Before editing the registry in any way, I highly recommend the backup program Erunt. To import a .reg file...Start > run > regedit > file > import > browse to .reg file and highlight it then select open. This should merge the file, if not you may have a file association problem. Super Fast Posted August 19, 2011 Share Posted August 19, 2011 How would it work if you tried merging it in safe mode? There may be a security app blocking the import, or possibly even some fake security app. Try rebooting your PC, then hit f8 key about once per second while it is booting up, till you get to a safe mode options screen. Select a safe boot option, such as with networking. Try to merge again, this time in Safe Mode, & see it it will work. Let us know if this works & report back.
