Ravi Natarajan
I was scanning my Mac laptop using Mcsafee antivirus, and hallway through I got a message "Mcafee Subscription Expired" I tried to renew online and I was taken to Cleaner . I paid for it using my Visa card and downloaded the file. Now it says it is windows version. I trio call the support number +1-315-966-0504 many times. I only get a message saying all lines are busy and asking me to leave my name, number and a message. I am not getting any answer from them. How do I proceed to get my Mac Version . Have I lost my money?
Moderators Nergal Posted October 12, 2023 Moderators Share Posted October 12, 2023 There is no support phone number for ccleaner, are you sure you have ccleaner (two c's) Ccleaner has no affiliation with macafee, they are owned by avast/avg/norton but not macafee. I worry you were scammed ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators nukecad Posted October 13, 2023 Moderators Share Posted October 13, 2023 That does appear to be genuine CCleaner - but the telephone number you gave for 'support' is a concern because it does not seem to be either CCleaner or Cleverbridge. Where did you get that telephone number from? It does not appear to be listed anywhere. It may well be a scam. Note that- CCleaner is not an Antivirus - it is not a replacement for MacAffee or for any other Antivirus. CCleaner is primarily a junk file cleaner, with a few other tools. Check again if your MacAfee has actually expired or not, because what you say about a pop-up during a scan does not sound right and sounds like a scam. This is why we are concerned. If your MacAffee has indeed expired then you will still need to renew or replace it, CCleaner is not an antivirus. Having said the above: If you still want CCleaner on your Mac then you should be able to download the Free version and then enter the key you have been given to activate it as Pro. A new, genuine. CCleaner licence key will work to activate either Windows or Mac versions of CCleaner. https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner-mac *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'?
