TheOwner
Hello, when this task execute, it opens cmd on my monitor for half a second then it close it. Its very annoying see this pop-up every day. This task should be done invisible in background. Windows 7 64bit, CCleaner 6.
Guest johnccleaner
That's very odd, as that should be done in the background as you report. Would you be kind enough to generate a debug log as described here: https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/360048363751 and then please contact our support team via the Contact Us form located here: https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=86507 or by emailing support@ccleaner.com directly, including the generated debug log, so that this could be investigated further? Indeed, this is intended to run silently in the background without the window appearing. Just by way of update, the devs have this captured as a bug for investigation. Rob Pomeroy
I am seeing this same behaviour (with 6.08.10255). Is it fixed in 6.09.10300? Command prompt very briefly appears and disappears - too quick to capture a screenshot. According to Task Scheduler, it had just run the CCleanerCrashReporting task. Moderators nukecad Posted February 21, 2023 Moderators Share Posted February 21, 2023 It is still happening with v6.09. It happens once a day and always at the same time each day.* I guess that it isn't high on the list to be fixed. *I've found that you can change the trigger time in Task Scheduler so that the task will run at a time less likely to annoy you. (But I've deliberately set it to a time when I will see it, so that I can see that it's still happening). *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Wobble
I have the problem too (or I did before, in an act of over-kill, I set the task to be hidden - via a box in the Windows Scheduler - and disabled it entirely). See this post of mine.
Moderators nukecad Posted April 6, 2023 Moderators Share Posted April 6, 2023 Yes it's still happening . You can of course just disable/delete the scheduled task, but it will be re-enabled by the next CCleaner update so you'd have to disable/delete it each time there's a CCleaner update. Changing when it is scheduled to run is kept across updates - so you'll only need to do it the once. The steps below schedule it to run at Windows Startup rather than at a set time, and it's that quick you won't notice it run. Open the Windows Start menu and type: Task Select Task Scheduler and open it. In the Task Scheduler select 'Task Scheduler Library', right-click on 'CCleanerCrashReporting', and select 'Properties' in the context menu. In the properties dialogue that opens select the 'Triggers' tab, select 'Edit' Set the task to run at Startup: OK out and close Task Scheduler. Job done and you shouldn't be bothered by it again. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning? Daytona
Thanks nukecad These cmd shell popups had me rather spooked. It still hasn't been fixed. Bad Piriform.
TM1960
This s***ty behaviour is already aware, not fixed, version 6.20.10897 64-bit. It's annoying playing a game and when the ccleaner crash reporting is starting my game stops and switches to desktop because the cmd shell pops up. What a nuisance, a now go. TheOwner
Just disable that scheduled task in task manager. It exist only for crash reporting, so its safe to disable.
Moderators nukecad Posted February 15 Moderators Share Posted February 15 If you just disable it then it will be re-enabled with the next CCleaner update, so it's better to set it to run at startup as explained above. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'?
