Driver updated - now no audio (sound) at all

I updated the drivers and now there is no sound at all.  I did all the troubleshooting possible and contacted CCleaner for support and haven't heard back from them.  I don't know what to do, I cannot get my work done without sound/audio ... I need to hear videos.  I don't understand the unwillingness to help when CCleaner's automatic driver update is responsible.

  • CKota changed the title to Driver updated - now no audio (sound) at all

Have you tried rolling back the driver update?
Is the audio card shown under device manager? If not then check further under View>show hidden devices.

I followed this path:

Driver Updater >Fix a Problem  >Help Me - and I selected >Sound - Show all

relevant driver ... nothing is listed.  Then I click an option on top and went to Drivers installed "any time" and there is no option to select and Revert Selected.

I don't have that option ... the "Revert Selected" isn't an option ... can't click on it (basically, as they say it's greyed out, but in this case it is an unlinked button.

If you click on one of the entries shown in your screenshot does the revert button activate?

I’ll check on my copy.

As there’s no box then you may have to try this-
You might have to reinstall an older driver via the device’s entry within device manager if it doesn’t show then check under show hidden devices.
Right click device.
Choose update driver.
Choose ‘browse my computer for drivers’.
Choose ‘let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer’.
Choose the compatible hardware from the list, then choose next.
Choose one of the older drivers from the list shown, then click next.
This will then reinstall the driver.
