markfleener
CCleaner is making it so my computer wont hibernate unless I go reset the hibernation settings. It's Windows 10 Home Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.508) Alienware 15R4
Moderators Nergal Posted October 10, 2020 Moderators Share Posted October 10, 2020 Are you using the registry section of ccleaner? Do you use a winapp2 file or any ccleaner enhancing software ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators Nergal Posted October 10, 2020 Moderators Share Posted October 10, 2020 you're probably removing a registry entry which is tied to hibernation mode. Removing blindly the registry entries found can cause troubles, best to follow my signature (below this post) when doing registry cleaning especially with windows 10 ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. markfleener
I just noticed that Firefox is what's keeping me from hibernating (quite unusual). I'll have to go bug them, maybe it's an add-on cause it's definitely not a video or song.
Moderators nukecad Posted October 11, 2020 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2020 It could well be an add on. Firefox has it's own "safe mode" to check for that - but in the end you have to disable each one in turn to find the offending one. (BTW I've not heard of anyone using hibernate with Win10 before. Some use Fast Startup which is a combination of sleep and hibernate; and is always suggested as the thing to turn off if you are having odd problems). *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning?
