yodis
I need to recover lost data from an almost full 8TB Seagate Disk, which after an obviously unsuccessful scandisc appears to have 7,23TB free. Under Windows 10 Explorer there appear to be only 40 GB of data. I didn't write anything on the disk since then, so there shouldn't be big problems But, due to the very high amount of data, e.g. millions of files and a total of more than 7TB the software should by all means be able to rebuild the directory structure, recreating the correct path of the files automatically. Is recuva capable of doing so without having to point where every file should be put? Thanks in advance.

yodis
Thanks. Btw saving the situation in between would be a great thing! It's very frustrating losing all the 50 hours search because of a crash... Does the Pro version contain this feature?

It wouldn't make sense to do this as the overwritten files are bound to change after the scan, if the drive is in use. What do you mean by that? I have a whole 8 TB drive and I am scanning it right now, hoping to recover the most possible. Are the files being overwritten by that scanning now? Why? IOf course I haven't saved anything explicitly on that drive since.
yodis
This software is great, it finds a lot of stuff! What is this option search for non-deleted files? Should I check it in order to find files that I didn't delete, but don't appear in file system after an interrupted windows scandisk? Thank you. He means that if your drive is in use by Windows or any other program, that program will write on the disk and ovewrite deleted files. The best thing to do when you want to recover a disk is to plug it as a secondary disk, whilist your main disks has Windows, recuva and the rest of programs.
