Moderators hazelnut Posted October 10, 2018 Moderators Share Posted October 10, 2018 Need more info. What operating system are you using? What build of CCleaner? Has this just started? Have you tried cleaning IE temp files and cookies from within IE itself? If yes, does that solve the 'blockage' ? Guest Ben CCleaner
@brokerman I can confirm that this is a known issue and appears to relate to cleaning of IE History, some of the databases we clean appear to have been locked down. We are working on a fix and I will get back to you when we know more. For now, you should be able to clean the rest of the machine if you untick the IE history. Moderators Andavari Posted October 11, 2018 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2018 For some reason I don't run into that issue if I do the following: 1. Open Microsoft Edge. 2. Close Microsoft Edge. This should have all Edge processes close to not interfere with CCleaner's cleaning ability. 3. Open CCleaner and click Run Cleaner, it's a little slow for maybe 10 seconds cleaning Internet Explorer's history but it works. Why Edge and Internet Explorer seem tied at the hip like that I don't know.
