BetaGeek
Hello All, I've rebuilt my Win10 PC and when I installed CCleaner Pro it didn't list Firefox Portable in any of the options (particularly Applications and Browser Monitoring). I've tried reinstalling CCleaner and modifying the ccleaner.ini but neither has added Firefox Portable to the options. Is it possible to add the browser into CCleaner? The current location for Firefox Portable on my PC is: C:\Users\mynamehere\Portable Apps\FirefoxPortable Thanks for any assistance.

BetaGeek
Thanks for the link. I managed to get Firefox to show in the Cleaner > Applications list, but it's still not listed under Options > Monitoring > Browser Monitoring. I've rebooted hoping that would fix it, but it hasn't. Is there another way to place Firefox (the portable version) in the Browser Monitoring section? Again thanks for the quick response.
Moderators Nergal Posted January 25, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 25, 2016 As it is portable, there is no single location where ccleaner could detect the firefox.exe, so how would ccleaner be able to find it. Without an additional layer of customlocation, a feature that isn't highly publicized nor part of the GUI, I'm not sure how this could be achieved for montioring. (Opinion only, not "official answer") ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. BetaGeek
Prior to rebuilding this Win10 system, CCleaner did recognize, monitor and clean Firefox portable. I don't know how, but it did.
Moderators Nergal Posted January 25, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 25, 2016 I think it still does (on my win10 anyway my monitor asks to clean when I close Port. Chrome and Firefox) the option to turn on or off just isn't there. My theory is that while running the portables are easy to monitor (e.g. shows up as firefox.exe in task manager) ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. BetaGeek
I had the option for to monitor Firefox listed in the option prior to the rebuild and I could select it or not (along with Portable Chrome. Now neither portable version displays (only MS Edge and IE). Weird its not there despite the manual update to ccleaner.ini unless I'm missing something. Moderators Andavari Posted January 25, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 25, 2016 Even though you mentioned you installed CCleaner Pro, however are you using the Portable version of CCleaner? CCleaner Portable has Monitoring completely disabled.
BetaGeek
It's the fully installed version of ccleaner that I'm using. Had it monitoring and cleaning the portable browsers for a long time until this rebuild.
dvdbane
try add this to ccleaner.ini (Mon)3026=2 try open ff and close it cc should prompt you to clean ff
BetaGeek
After adding (Mon)3026=2 to ccleaner.ini, I closed both firefox and ccleaner. Opened ccleaner and then firefox. Unfortunately I didn't get prompted to clean firefox and it's still not displayed under 'browser monitoring'. If it helps, here's what I've added to ccleaner.ini so far: CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|C:\Users\****\Portable Apps\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile(App)Mozilla - Internet History=False(App)Mozilla - Cookies=False(App)Mozilla - Download History=FalseCustomLocation2=CHROME|C:\Users\****\Portable Apps\GoogleChromePortable\Data\profile(App)Google Chrome - Internet History=False(App)Google Chrome - Cookies=False(App)Google Chrome - Download History=False(App)Google Chrome - Last Download Location=False(Mon)3026=2 Both Firefox Portable and Google Chrome Portable are now displayed in CCleaner's 'Applications' tab and appear to work. dvdbane
is that all from ccleaner.ini? adding the line that i posted won't work if Browser Monitoring isn't enable if you're already enable it, then i don't know why it won't work
BetaGeek
Browser Monitoring is enabled. Only MS Edge and IE are displayed (and set to 'automatically clean on closing with notifications'. No, that's not the entire ccleaner.ini. Moderators Andavari Posted January 25, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 25, 2016 Can't see anything wrong with what you have as: CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|C:\Users\xxxx\Portable Apps\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile Just baffled that Monitoring worked previously with FF Portable. BetaGeek
Whoa! This morning CCleaner did not load on startup, BUT when I started it Firefox was displayed under 'Browser Monitoriing'. What did you guys/gals do while I wasn't looking? It may be too much to ask that Google Chrome Portable also show up there... Thanks
Moderators Nergal Posted January 26, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 26, 2016 Nothing, but you probably had firefox open when ccleaner started which may? have added the option. BetaGeek
So no one was working in the background eh? Still happy FF monitoring is working again. FYI: I had shutdown both Firefox and CCleaner before editing the ccleaner.ini. Started CC first and then FF but it wasn't listed to by monitored. My guess is that it needed a PC shutdown and once it was restarted the ini edits made their changes to CC. But that's all just a guess. Still don't know why Chrome Portable isn't available to monitor...
Moderators Nergal Posted January 26, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 26, 2016 Again it maybe monitored, just not listed in setting. Open a chrome portable session with ccleaner monitoring, then close chrome and you may see the popup stating "chrome was closed do you want to clean it" Edit: do you have customlocation set for chrome. BetaGeek
Just tried that at your suggestion. Opened Chrome, navigated to a webpage and closed Chrome. No indication that CC was working (no animated 'sweeping' icon) and no popup asking to clean it.
