long startup-time in win10

I thought the newest version of CCLEANER was supposed to fix the SKIP UAC slowdown, but it happens like every 3rd time I run it during the day.

It takes my PC 10 seconds when it does not work (old Quad core desktop).

Under CCleaner If you click on

Options

Advanced

uncheck "Skip User Account Control Warning".

This will speed it up.

Caveat:

It will popup the UAC window before it runs and you will have to click OK, but it will be fast and consistent.

Other option is to setup a scheduled task.

There are instructions on how to do this on this forum.

https://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/ccleaner-how-tos/scheduling-ccleaner

I did mine to run on-demand:
To do this, I think you have to have the option:

Options
Advanced
"Save all Settings to INI file" checked

Next Fire up the task scheduler in Windows 10
taskschd.msc

Create a stored Procedure named CCleaner (or whatever you want to call it)

Actions --->  start a program  (put in the below if you are running 64bit CCLEANER):
   "c:\program files\ccleaner\ccleaner64.exe" /auto
   check "Run with highest privileges"

Create an icon on the desktop that looks like: C:\Windows\System32\schtasks.exe /run /tn ccleaner

I have mine set to open minimized

This is ongoing in another thread.

The best workwround found up to now is to turn on active monitoring, see this post:

http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=44723&p=268018

This means that you dont see the 10-15 seconds delay with the initial start as it happens in the background.

The only time you will then see the delay is if a Defender Definition Update has taken place whilst you are working..

Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning? See this link:
