Using portable CCleaner with PortableApps issue, part II

A few months ago, I opened this thread on getting CCleaner portable to point to the other portable apps on my USB drive

http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=43876&page=1

Now with the latest Portable updates from Chrome, I find CCleaner deleting my Chrome extensions after each cleaning.  Things like Click & Clean, Disconnect and the Adblock Plus Chrome extensions.

And then I ran across this...

https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/1yj4lb/update_ccleaner_so_it_does_not_delete_your/

Which I updated to, yet it still seems to delete my extensions somehow and had no effect.

Does anybody know how to prevent this from happening?

Thank you.

Have you tried in CCleaner:

1. Options > Exclude > Add (button)

2. Then choose Drive or Folder, and browse to where the extensions are stored and exclude that whole Extensions folder, example (I'm assuming here now since I use SRWare Iron Portable a Chrome/Chromium clone and don't know if the paths under profile are the same):

G:\PortableApps\GoogleChromePortable\Data\profile\Default\Extensions

It's interesting that it's deleting your extensions because CCleaner doesn't touch my extensions in SRWare Iron Portable which CCleaner sees and deems Chrome.

No, I haven't tried that method but I will, thanks.

Btw, do you know a way to back up extensions on Chrome (or Iron)?  I did a search and can't seem to find anything on it.

On a side note, it's interesting that you use SRWare Iron Portable since I tried using that AND Chrome on the same portableapps drive and found they conflicted with one another when I tried to open both at the same time.  I kept getting a warning message saying that another instance of Chrome (or Iron) was running in the background, even though both appear to have entirely seperate folders under the G:\PortableApps folder.  Apparently it's an either/or situation when it comes to using two different variations of the same browser on PortableApps.
