SMalik
I have a Windows 8 64-bit system. I have CCleaner version 3.25.1872 and Firefox version 17.0.1 installed on this system. Sometimes CCleaner hangs up when cleaning Firefox cache. I have completely removed Firefox and reinstalled. Same issue again sometimes.

Moderators Nergal Posted December 4, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 4, 2012 Please Run CCleaner in debug mode Running CCleaner in debug mode If you need to generate a log of CCleaner's environment and activities for troubleshooting purposes, you can run the software in debug mode. To run CCleaner in debug mode: 1.From the Windows desktop, click Start and then click Run. 2.In the Run dialog box, type "<path to CCleaner>" /debug. Typically, this will be: "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe" /debug (Quote Marks Are Important) 3.Click OK. CCleaner starts in debug mode. You will see the word [debug] next to the version number at the top of the CCleaner window. 4.Once you have finished using CCleaner and have quit the program, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the installation path (the same path you typed in Step 2). The log file will be in this folder in the format CCleaner_log[date].txt. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. SMalik
I think this was an issue with Firefox version 17.0.1. After updating Firefox to version 18.0, everything is working fine now.
Moderators Andavari Posted January 12, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 12, 2013 After updating Firefox to version 18.0, everything is working fine now. I wonder if it had something to do with your FF profile since constant updates, etc., can mess it up over time although sometimes with just one version update. Anyways at least the problem disappeared.
SMalik
I'm having the same issue again By the way the issue is not with Firefox, CCleaner stops even when it is wiping some other files. When I run CCleaner as Administraor then it works fine. I'm getting this issue on a Windows 8 64-bit system and the user account has Administrator rights. I have a Windows 7 64-bit system and CCleaner works fine on that system.
