verlando
Does CCleaner have any plans to include "SRWare Iron Browser" into the lineup of browsers it cleans when run? I really like this particular browser but it doesn't currently appear to be included. TIA

TheWebAtom
I stumbled across a really interesting article today. In a nutshell: The simple fact is that Iron is a scam and the developer is using you. Source: SRWare Iron Browser – A Real Private Alternative To Chrome? I'm Shane. Moderators Andavari Posted October 13, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 13, 2012 I was originally going to use SRWare Iron, but found out by installing it some things couldn't be enabled so ended up using Comodo Dragon instead. If that developer is only after ad revenue he wouldn't be the first.
TheWebAtom
If that developer is only after ad revenue he wouldn't be the first. There's nothing inherently wrong with an ad-supported business model. Piriform used it for years. Heck; 95% of the money I make from software development is based on advertising revenue. The issue here is the way the Iron developer is manipulating the fear of his users; leading them to believe they're at risk from (non-existant) security issues. It's essentially scareware. I'm Shane. Moderators Andavari Posted October 15, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 15, 2012 scareware + scamware. Surprised there's not a cease and desist order sent against it already. Then Irons market share is probably dismally uncountable.
