LEEnoble
I changed the settings in msconfig to minimal boot. Now when I boot up the PC I get the Windows XP booting screen then it just goes blank - nothing on the screen. How do I fix this so I can see the screen again? I'm on a different PC writing this. Thanks. CCleaner fan since 2005 picshack.co.uk - free image hosting
Moderators rridgely Posted December 18, 2005 Moderators Share Posted December 18, 2005 Is explorer.exe running? If not try starting it by going in the process manager and going to file>Run(new task) Or try pressing F5 untill you get to the safe mode screen. See if you can boot to regular safe mode and change the setting.

LEEnoble
I've added the C: drive as a slave drive to this computer to try and get my documents off it before I put it back in my PC and format it. But I get access denied when I try to open my user account on it. Anyone know a way to open it? Ill see what I can find. Edit: At least with a boot disc you could start system restore through dos.

Think i'll just give up and format, I still have 2nd December's backups on my external disk. Tarun
It's F8 to get to Safe Mode, actually. F5 does refresh in Windows.

A good idea would be to admit that it was just a guess.
