Not shure what to call this observation.

The timeconsume that CCleaner uses for a scan, differs greatly among different Pc's.

From a few seconds to over 5minutes.

1. ASUS M3A32-MVP running W7 on harddrive 4200rpm - very fast

2. ASUS E45 running W8DP on hardrive 7200rpm - very slow

3. ASUS Sabertooth 990FX running W8DP on SSD Crucial M4 - fast

4. Laptop Samsung 305V5A-S07 running W7 on harddrive 7200rpm - ekstreem slow

Both my daughters have this laptop and they occur equal. They are using MS virusprotection. None of the others are using any installed virus protection.

Are you nice people aware of this phenomen ?

I am. So many system variables will account for this, but the speed depends mostly on your cpu and mobo. A CC drive wipe with my AMD A8 3800 is usually 10× faster than my aging Celeron 440.

You can check the relative performance of your cpus at PassMark.

Thanks for fast respons !

As You can see - all are equipped with 4x CPU.

The older one are the fastes - the newer are by far the slower.

Samsung Laptop (both) are really slow and it takes as mencioned over 5min. And they runs W7.

The CPU-speeds or efficency can not account for this big difference.

What I have in mind, are if some of the crapware may slow them down ?

I got rid of some of the obvious, but alot remains - thou I where unfamiliare......

Any known bloat with this behaviar ?

If your daughters use Facebook that invites more malware than M.S. virusprotection can handle

I helped a female friend with a slow laptop.

I was astounded by how many different mobile phone service providers had installed so many internet / WIFI applications.

and horrified by how many of these had services that were automatic and always running, even though she was no longer subscribing.

You have two daughters :)

A factor you have NOT addressed is how much junk is found by scan.

The greater the amount of junk, the longer it will take to enumerate.

I guess the quantity of files is probably more significant than the size

Perhaps the Laptop accumulates more junk than the others for reasons I am too gallant to express. :)

I also guess by scan you mean ANALYZE.

To "Run Cleaner" takes longer - especially if Secure Deletion or or Wipe Free Space is used.
