hapeman
Since using CCleaner on the registry, I can no longer update software or install new software. Keep getting the Error 1402:Cannot open key...you do not have permission. I'm in over my head. Help, please.

Moderators Nergal Posted July 12, 2011 Moderators Share Posted July 12, 2011 and from now forward please follow the advice in my signature and do not clean everything that comes up on the registry clean ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
