gunner
Bought a old Dell computer at an auction for charity. It has xp pro, but no restore disk. Only had a 6gb HD, so I installed a second drive and backed up everything to the new drive. Can I make a disk from that to restore this dinasour? I have reached the peter principle. I googled it, and there seems to be volumes on the subject. Anyone know the best solution? If it isn't broke, tweak it.
Sniper
You might try getting a replacement CD from Dell. This might help. Replacement CD

Moderators Andavari Posted November 23, 2005 Moderators Share Posted November 23, 2005 While you're at it you may want to get the system transferred into your name (that would be the service tag), that way you can download updates from Dell's website that are tailored just for that PC. johnnyblaze803
I hope dells replacement cds are cheap. I thought I would need mine that I lost. Gateway wanted like 200 bucks for them to be replaced. Needless to say I found other routes.
