Anomaly
Anyone else have that issue on XP SP3? Firefox memory usage has climbed on all my systems. XP SP3 and SP2 as well as Mac. It's a Firefox thing not a SP3 thing. It's only going to get worse. Wait until they run all tabs and addons in a separate process like Chrome does. Than you will really see the memory usage increase. Now of course you will get some replies from the people who say so what you have a lot of RAM what do you care. That doesn't change the fact Firefox is using more memory. Aethec
When FF will separate tabs, it will use more memory, but all memory from a tab will be freed when the tab is closed. Currently, most of it is still used. Piriform French translator
Moderators Andavari Posted August 3, 2010 Moderators Share Posted August 3, 2010 Haven't noticed since this newer build of FF is just plain bloated in mem usage anyway.
mr don
Haven't noticed since this newer build of FF is just plain bloated in mem usage anyway. A part of this is because FF has features built into it that allow you to undo a closed tab, up to the last 10 opened, I believe, along with other things. You can turn a lot of it off by about:config in your address bar, then navigate through it & disable what you don't want.
