Ishi
Hello, Feb 2010 Vista Ultimate (likely all Vista versions) is using the following location for temporary folders / files: C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local as well as C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Temp Please add these to your cleanup list in CCleaner! Thanks. It would be good to add such a feature but CCleaner can include individual folders for cleaning. Go to Options>Include>Add. I love computer maintenance tasks. Some of my favorite programs: Wordpad -basic word processing Notepad - temporary clipboard and basic scripting module Windows Media Player 12- video, music and online radio player Windows Media Center - live TV, local FM radio CCleaner- handy computer maintenance tool If something fails to work after using the registry cleaner, use SYSTEM RESTORE. Moderators Nergal Posted March 1, 2010 Moderators Share Posted March 1, 2010 C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local is not solely a Temp folder ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Aethec
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local This is NOT a temp folder, but a folder for application data. C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Temp = %Temp% (to be compatible with all versions of Windows). Piriform French translator
Moderators Nergal Posted March 1, 2010 Moderators Share Posted March 1, 2010 = %Temp% (to be compatible with all versions of Windows). Yup and As far as I can tell CCleaner does now and has always cleaned it (thus it being a temp file cleaner program) and it does ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. osmarelo
This is a problem, when deleting files in TEMP folder. CCleaner v2.30.1130 are deleting files (xxxxxxLog.ini) in folder "Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Temp\". It cause "error message" when you make next boot in the computer. I don't know why it is happend, and can't undertand how those files (.ini) where set in that folder. Those files (.ini) where created when I made updates in motherboard drivers. To correct I made "restauration" in the system and turn those files (.ini) as hide.

It would be better to make those files part of tools>exclude instead of "hiding" them. . . do you know what program is creating these files???
