jsayers
I am wondering: does CCleaner differ from good old fashioned computer maintenance, such as XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Moderators DennisD Posted February 26, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 26, 2010 I'm sorry, but that's a link to a commercial Computer cleaning site, so I've removed the link from your post. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that's it's not a deliberate spam post.

Dennis, it was nice of you to give him the benefit on your doubt but he is a commerical spammer for his own product Link removed to fix ability of spammer to have a link available ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators DennisD Posted February 26, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 26, 2010 Thanks Nergal. I didn't want to be too hasty with him when removing the link, but I'll just dust off the "eject" button.

Ishi
Have you guys been drinking? I drunk some orange juice but I don't drink alcohol. Back on the topic, CCleaner is considerably fast and easier to use compared to old fashioned computer maintenance techniques that are done without third party programs but CCleaner alone obviously does not have all the utility stuff needed to fully maintain the system. Microsoft operating systems don't even have their own modules for registry cleaning whereas CCleaner does. I hope you got the answer wide and clear from there. Good luck... I love computer maintenance tasks. Some of my favorite programs: Wordpad -basic word processing Notepad - temporary clipboard and basic scripting module Windows Media Player 12- video, music and online radio player Windows Media Center - live TV, local FM radio CCleaner- handy computer maintenance tool If something fails to work after using the registry cleaner, use SYSTEM RESTORE. Moderators DennisD Posted February 27, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 27, 2010 If only. I'm saving up for a bottle of Amber Nectar. Have you seen the price of it now?
