Hi all.

How would you rate CCleaner's built-in registry cleaner?

Choose:

1. Safe. No need to check the results.

2. Enouph safe, but the results still must be analized.

3. Moderately Safe...

4. Crashed all my home PCs (lol).

Also, a few words about its accuracy and efficiency. Thx... ^_^

(given that 5 is much like 2 in your list then given only your choices 2 but 5 is my answer (see my signature)

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

Hi guys,

as a professional lama, I have "cleaned" the registry (using CCleaner) without any knowledge of what I deleted. The system obviously crashed and won't start. I know I have done something really stupid and I am not proud of it. But I hope someone could help.

I've done a registry backup but I cannot log-in (not even in the safe-mode) to use it. My XP Home edition just freezes on the boot screen any doesn't go any further.

Any ideas what to do to save the current sys?

Which bit does it freeze at in the screenshots here

Have you tried Last known Good Configuration?

I cannot get further than here in "normal" mode:

And no further than here in "safe" mode:

Last known good configuration had the same result as starting in both "normal" and "safe" mode. PC goes to windows boot screen and then restarts.
