sheltonct
Installed newest version of ccleaner today on 2 separate machines and found out after clean that avg antivirus license are now gone or as avg warning screen says "License number could not be fully verified". Installing ccleaner and running it is the only thing that has occurred on both machines - windows xp pro sp3 and windows home edition sp3. P4 and amd cpu chips If I reinstalled as avg says, it works until next clean. Please help or comment. Thanks, Matt
Moderators Augeas Posted March 3, 2009 Moderators Share Posted March 3, 2009 Possibly a registry issue. I would hold off running registry clean until the problem can be identified.

Moderators hazelnut Posted March 3, 2009 Moderators Share Posted March 3, 2009 Did you install AVG in the default location? If not, where do you have AVG installed to? sheltonct
Welcome to Piriform Matt. AVG installed into default locations on both machines. Again, the only thing that has changed, was the upgraded version of ccleaner on both machines - did a clean - worked fast as normal - then bam, avg has a heartattack with no key Has the license gone of both machines? This info is stored in the registry just do a system restore to a date when it last worked correctly. AVG have there own forum if you want to search. http://forum.grisoft.cz/freeforum/index.php?0 The problem is the same on both machines after the install of the latest version on CCleaner. The only way I can fix is to re-install - avg free with the key - I re-installed avg free antivirus and ran cleaner again - key was gone after reboot.
