Ross G
I am getting tired or spending money on these products that were suppose to do a certain job, that comes highly recommended but yet fails to do its job. I have a piece of Spyware/Adware on the computer that I am trying to remove and this product can see those parts of the computer to get that out. BUT it completely missed the files and pretended they didn't exist. The only product that actually saw it was AdwareAlert but it never removed it. I am frustrated and would like my money back. I am going to have to wipe the PC and redo it and i was only spending the money so i wouldn't have to waste me time wiping the system. its a shame that there isn't a customer service department that i could talk to. But i have attached the files that keep repopulating themselves no matter how hard i try to remove, disable, hide, whatever. I am experienced in working on this. But its a shame a company isn't living up to its product. And how come once you finish running a scan and you run a second one right after, it finds things that it "missed" the first time around even though you have done nothing on the PC for it to do anything. A Good product that you paying enough for should do it all in one fail swoop instead of paying for it to do parts, and a company with the same product takes care of what it missed. davey
Hello Ross G, Welcome to the forums !!! As Disk4mat says CCleaner is to clean files from your computer. Many people think that it is also to clean malware from the computer. Any malware that gets cleaned is coincidental and not a function of CCleaner. From your snapshots it is apparent that you have malware that needs expert help to completely remove. I suggest that you follow the directions in this link and get help in the SpywareHell forum. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=17457 Good luck, davey Important Notice AdwareAlert is a Known "rogue software" that is being offered with a "free scan" on the Internet. Any website offering this is a "criminal" endeavor. Your PC has been infected with this "so called anti-malware" when in fact it is malware itself. As a member just like you please use the link above to get this removed from your PC. Other readers are warned not to visit the website related to this product or you can get infected also. Other readers looking for good security advice and safe software use this link written by one of our SpywareHell experts and moderators. http://internetrotsyourbrain.com/rridgely/...eprevention.htm Ross, we understand your situation and extreme frustration. You need this expert help. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=17457
Moderators hazelnut Posted December 13, 2008 Moderators Share Posted December 13, 2008 Ross, CCleaner is a TOTALLY FREE piece of software. Donations are allowed if the user wishes to do so, this can be seen on the home page http://www.CCleaner.com/downloadbuilds.asp and also here http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ As Disk4mat says it is not a spyware removal tool. Also as Davey has pointed out it looks like you have been tricked into installing malware in the shape of AdwareAlert. YoKenny
Ross, to add a bit more information. I would download MBAM then update it then run a Quick scan and let it remove what it detects and a reboot may be required to remove locked files: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php As AdwareAlert is a bit of a nasty infection to remove so get help in the SpywareHell forum to be sure that the system is clean.
