alexn817
I have a dell dimension 2400 and the cd drive is not reading the CDs. I know it worked a few weeks ago, but now it has stopped. Any ideas, preferably that will not damage my computer if done incorrectly? Thanks
Moderators Andavari Posted June 30, 2005 Moderators Share Posted June 30, 2005 If your system is still under warranty phone Dell support! If it can't be fixed whilst still under warranty they'll send you a new drive. In the mean time check this out: http://forum.CCleaner.com/index.php?showto...indpost&p=11283
Eldmannen
Describe the problem a little more and better. Did it suddently stop working without reason or it stopped working after a certain event or something. When you press the "Eject" button does the tray open? Maybe you lens needs cleaning if it have trouble reading, there are special discs that you insert into the CD-ROM drive that has a little brush on the disc that cleans the lens on the drive.
