show recycle bin

Hey guys! I need a quick bit of help here. I dont have the recycle bin showing on my desktop and i deleted something by accident that i need to get out of it. anyone know how to show it on the desktop? i did it so long ago that i cant remember.

In Windows Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Folder Options.

 

On the View tab, under Advanced Settings, do one of the following:

 

Select the Show Recycle Bin icon on the desktop check box to show the icon on your desktop.

 

Clear the Show Recycle Bin icon on the desktop check box to remove the icon from your desktop.

I could be wrong but I don't think that's a standard option in Windows XP. I think you need this registry hack that adds that option to the settings menu binopt.reg

Hi guys :lol: , I thought I was having problems because I had no options to do anything with the Recycle Bin on the Desktop.

Is not being able to remove the "Recycle Bin" from the Desktop some sort of "Windows" Safety-Measure?
