Weird Eraser Problem

Whenever I erase I folder with files in it, it doesn't matter what the files that are being erased are, there is always a weird problem with Eraser. When erasing via the context menu, that folder's contents do get erased. However, the folder does not, in fact, after erasing, files that were not originally in it are now there; _BLOCK.WB4, msaatext.dll, and other seemingly random junk files. I am using version 5.84. Any ideas?

As I don't use eraser so I have no idea as to why this happens to you.

As you got no answers from the other forums I was just trying to get some ideas for you to work with based on the 2 things that you mentioned that were in the folder Random junk things you called them.

One was refered to in a link from google as being part of windows blinds, the other, msaatext.dll, I think refers to this

What were the others?

Or you could try reinstalling eraser to see what happens then.

I don't think it has anything to do with Eraser

I had the same problem. Apparently StyleXP was conflicting with WindowsBlinds so I unistalled StyleXP and everything started working.

sidenote: some programs have a feature where, if you try to delete some of their files, those files get 'recreated' automatically. it's to protect the programs integrity, making sure no files accidently get deleted by users.

I think the program is recreating files in really weird places.. it could be just a really weird bug in the program

anyways, I'm basically just guessing..

try reinstalling WindowsBlinds, and StyleXP if you have it. it might help

also, I doubt it, but theres a chance it could be a virus. so make sure you run all your normal scans

my moneys on the 'WindowsBlinds' just being a buggy program though. if nothing else works, try getting rid of it. then see if the mysterious files still return :)
