I recently used that winapp2.ini thing, (Unedited, someone gave me a link, on THIS site) I pressed analyze, then I pressed run cleaner, and after I pressed run cleaner I got the following DLL error; Please help me! It should be located in: "C:\WINDOWS\System32\inetcpl.cpl" It also has a DLL file: "C:\WINDOWS\System32\inetcplc.dll" You should make sure you can load the Internet Properties, if not perhaps Dial-a-fix can repair it if you have those files listed above in the System32 folder. Now if you do have the inetcpl.cpl file in your C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder (or C:\Winnt\System32 in XP Home), and just in case Andavari' suggestions don't do the trick, you could try this: First, copy the existing inetcpl.cpl file from System32 to another folder for safekeeping. Next, delete the copy in System32. Windows File Protection will immediately detect that the file has disappeared, and will replace it with the copy from the Dllcache or ServicePackFiles folder. Well I've done what you said, (I renamed both the extensions to .BAK [from dll & cpl]), but the windows protection thing hasn't given the files back yet! The exact same error (not really an error) is occurring, the exact same as at the start of this topic (But the Dial-a-fix thing did fix a seperate issue for me, one I was asking on a different forum) Please help! To reiterate: On CCleaner, when I click Check for updates, it opens in IE6 (Even though I have long since, been up to date [iE7]) I want it to open up in firefox (I have the latest version) and NO other browser! Doing a sfc /scannow from the run box will prompt File Protection to check the integrity of all system files. You need to UNinstall IE 7, then do a fresh install of the browser. (IE7) But that's exactly what I told you to do: Firs UNinstall your present copy of IE 7 through Add-Remove Programs. Reboot when done. Then download and install IE 7 anew! It now opens in Firefox! YAY! Now doing a CCleaner thing again, to see if it will work, Good, no DLL error! Now to check if I have IE7, yep! Oh! IE7Pro isn't installed. I'll have to reinstall it.
