  1. Ok, yeah. Calc.exe is in there. Now what should I do with it?
  2. Yeah it is really confusing me too.
  3. I'm not seeing the dllcache folder.
  4. Ok, now how would I install the calculator into that folder so the program knows that it is there?
  5. Yeah, so today.. I went to use my calculator only to find that it is missing. I downloaded "Microsoft Calculator Plus", and installed it. I was using this program which has a calculator shortcut. I clicked the button and the program just closed. The reason is because the calculator is not installed in the windows folder. Where is the location of the Windows Calculator, and how would I put it in the right folder?
  6. Hmm, that's weird. I guess it's just like that for some people. A few people said it varied and some said it was quite consistent. Didn't mean to start an argument by the way.
  7. Alright, first off.. I did read the whole thread. Thanks for assuming I didn't. Second, you basically did say they weren't reliable by (pretty much) backing up the fact that someone else said they weren't. Third off, I've tested on at least 5 sites and all of them have come back within 10-50 kb/s off.
  8. I've tested numerous times, never had a result vary. Not in the slightest. *EDIT* I'm not saying it couldn't vary, testing from the same location, but I've never had it happen.
  9. Actually, as far as my knowledge goes and what I have heard, Speedtest.net is one of the more accurate internet speed test websites out there. Before you go out and say it's not reliable, you should at least post some proof as to why it isn't.
  10. Never mind, all figured out.
  11. As the title says, what is a Smart Card.. what does it do, and most importantly, how do I know if my notebook has one? Thanks!
  12. Yup, just came in the mail this morning. Sending it back sounds good to me.
  13. Hey everyone, I just received my cooling pad for my notebook. Right out of the box and plugged in, one of the fans is making a grinding/clicking noise. How can I fix this, it is quite annoying as is makes it a lot louder. Thanks!
  14. Great, thanks for the help!
  15. If you click "Options" and then "Advanced", there is an option to "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours." I was going to uncheck this box, but seeing as I don't know if it would hurt or not, I decided to ask. Would it cause any problems to uncheck it? Meaning it will delete all the files in Windows Temp folder even if they are not older than 48 hours.
  16. Wow. It's quite pathetic, in my opinion, that Microsoft wants to make a new OS and talk of how good it is.. but I can't even get my updates installed. I mean damn, those idiots are getting paid how much..? This is madness, and that's all there is to it. In the mean time, I suppose I will have to wait till those monkeys at Microsoft decide to stop picking each others butt all day and work.
  17. Alright, I'm using Vista Premium and I turn on my laptop this morning to see that I have 6 updates waiting. I download them and install them. It asks me to reboot, so I do, and then I log on only to find the updates have failed. If anyone is using Vista, my question is.. did you have this problem? Also, what am I supposed to do if they keep failing? Thanks
  18. Yup, that is what I plan on doing.. because it is quite obvious that the power supply is not providing enough power for the computer.
  19. Well I checked and I can honestly say that I am not aware if the HD is working or not. I don't want to say it's not working, and I don't want to confirm that it is. The only reason leading me to believe it is fine, is the fact that everything else is working.
  20. Case fan is moving, heatsink is moving. Video card is not giving signal (though it is integrated, so if the heatsink is moving, that leads me to believe the video is fine). I will check right now to see if the HD sounds like it is working.
  21. From what I was told there was no lighting, and it was one of those quick "power off, power on" kind of outages/surges.
  22. That is exactly what I was thinking.
  23. Alright, so here is the story.. my mom used the computer and went grocery shopping. When she came back, all the clocks were reset which indicates a power outage. Her computer was on during this time. Now when you plug the computer in and push the power button it wont light up. The cd drive will open which says it has power.. but it won't give signal on the monitor. Also, when I plug the computer in.. it turns on by itself. What could be wrong? My guess right now, (from all the inspecting Ive done of it), is that the power supply is probably fried. I mean it will turn on, only the cd drive opens, and it won't like fully power up. The thing that is keeping me from ordering a new one though is.. if the power supply is fried, could any other parts be fried? Mainly the video card because it won't give any signal. However that could be from the lack of power from the power supply because it is fried. Also, the HD. I cannot confirm that the HD is broken though because I have no computer to test it on.
  24. Yeah, there is a fan on the back, one on the side, and I think there may be one on the bottom.
