All I need is to upgrade my RAM to 1GB or 2GB and then my processor to 1.8 or 2.2ghz
My system right now is
AMD Athlon Xp 2000+ 1.67ghz
PC2100/PC2700 - 768MB of RAM
80GB HDD
POWERCOLOR ATI 9600Pro 256MB 128-BIT 400/400
But hey I'm not going to Vista for about a year or so

You talking about mine or the chicken head? I believe that's BS news but then again it can happen. That was proven to be a hoax. (Unless it happened again....) -
When I installed the toolbar I highlighted over Anti-Spy and that's all it said "Anti-Spy" and when I clicked the button it lead me to the page to download and install.
-
I Installed Anti-Spy back when Yahoo like... first released it so it could be different now

He must of meant he looked within the main folder within "Program files" under his main HDD.nothing to do with Norton at all. -
IE7 has to be a mistake. I was shocked. There's nothing new to me besides crappy developed Tabb feature.
I find ST to be really good. Even though I see why you say "Why" have ST

You BEAT me!!! carry on.What were you doing to cause this? Or did it just start randomly? -
What OS are you using? Specs. for computer? What was the LAST thing you were doing before the problem occurred?
-
After all Rrridgely there just Toolbars for IE. You can't even close to suspect perfect or at least decent. Go with Spyware Terminator, SUPER Anti-Spyware, Ad-Ware and AVG Anti-Spyware.Umm... I don't know what to say.I was interested so I downloaded the toolbar against my better judgement. Then once installed I looked for the antispyware function and what did I find? Its freaking Norton Antispyware?!
I didn't bother installing that because there is no guarantee that I would be able to get rid of it.
Just get superantispyware and/or AVG antispyware. Together they get almost everything.
OMG!!! Did I forget Spybot for the side of things...

IDK... if you people ever heard about what happen at Wendy's a few years back. A lady found a finger in her Chili or something like that if I recall correctly. Supposedly a worker cut her finger and didn't somehow realize... the finger got mixed in with the chili

When I used Yahoo's Anti-Spy it removed some Windows files and that made me uninstall it. This was 3 years so I bet by now it has Improved.

Better then my PC by far.

I've heard of him. My Mom likes his music just a little. I'm 19 so I don't know him that well but he sounds cool.

When will people learn that's all I have to say. I'm just tired of these new Os's cause they don't get any better. They...Just...Get...Worse!Is anyone really surprised by this?Of course they don't think its enough.. if they did then they would go out of business!
Vista is probably going to be like xp when it comes to virues. If you use commen sense and keep it updated than everything should be fine.
If you click on junk email, download crap off p2p, and go to warez sites than your going to get lots of junk.
OMG!!! Heres Windows vista with a brand new Search feature...O....Wow that really Interest me. O...how about the new Security Features? Hmm... I bet that's really an Improvement!!!
People NO MATTER WHAT OS you have besides Windows 95 and ME you'll always be protected and updated to use some of the new devices still produced today. You'll be protected by Anti-Spyware Apps and such. Just...Keep...Them...Updated!!!
How about Vista's new Interface? O...and may look pretty but HEY Microsoft!!! Looks aren't everything!!! Stop waisting time on stuff people could careless about.

Ron,
The Intel based Processor you described should do fine but if it were me I'd go with the AMD cause it's just me and I've ONLY used AMD Processors.
-
Hi Ron,I'm looking to buy a new pc and I've heard a lot about the Intel Core 2 Duo processor. However, the price difference is a huge jump when compared to the AMD dual-core. I'm in the process of debating between these two processors and was looking for some advice from the hardware gods...AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ dual-core - 2.4GHz
vs
Intel? Core™2 Duo Processor E6400 (2MB L2 Cache,2.13GHz,1066 FSB)
Any help you guys (and girls) can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot!
Ron
It depends really. I'm an AMD Fan and knowing from me AMD processors are better towards to gaming and Intel is based more towards Application work. From what I know and heard "I could be wrong" but I think... Intel processors get hotter then an AMD Processor. For me AMD Processors tend to have a faster boot time and non-the-less they play games smoothly and don't tend to heat up.
Price is a major difference and I'd go toward AMD.

I won't be using Windows Vista till 2008 at the most. EVEN after my computer upgrade I won't even consider it. It's rather pointless as most games won't install on it for now. Device and App's. are lacking. Older products from company's at least 70% will NOT release updated drivers to support Windows Vista. Just sit back with Windows Xp Professional.

Lots of changes in this next release
-
I've never had it crash on me. It's strange that others experience this issue.

I'm with you on thatI see no reason why MS shouldn't include a security software CD-R that contains freeware anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall software with included readme documentation so that a user could decide what they want to install, or at the very least integrate into Security Center a webpage that would load a Microsoft website with links to various security software rather it be freeware or commercial. -
I use Paint 3 and it's WONDERFUL!!!!Yes, I would continue to purchase Winrar and Tuneup Utilities and ACDSEE. I really like those apps. There are a few others that i like, but i dont need to keep up with the "Jones'" when it comes to software. I have a few other apps that are slowly becoming obselete-like NERO, which since i found Ashampoo burning, i never use anymore. Its great when you find a good freeware application. Plus my Office 2003 does everything i ever ever need it to do, so why upgrade to 2007 version? And ive been looking at Paint 3 which is looking pretty interesting too, so one day it may make it onto my computer. -
My list is in my Sig.
-
If I ever bought another PC from a retail store I'd reformat it of course. I to use mainly Freeware products as they are just better in my opinion.
