latest version v5.15

Hello,
Sorry for digging up such an old thread. But it seams the bug is still there with 5.15.5513 version of CCleaner.
Selecting "Include files and subfolders" is supposed to "cause CCleaner to search all subfolders within the selected folder for the files to be deleted", which it does. The problem is that it also deletes every empty folder within the included one, which should only happen when choosing "Include files, subfolders and the folder itself".
Is this bug supposed to be solved, 5 years later...?
Thank you for your help.
i don't think it's a bug
"and the folder itself" mean root folder will be deleted as well
to avoid all empty folder being deleted, you should use "File Types" instead of "All Files"
maybe dev should add "and folders" to the Warning

if i'm not mistaken, Hello added in FF45
FF46beta, Pocket will be added
usually after upgrade to latest version ,FF will ask to restart

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\features
- loop@mozilla.org.xpi
- firefox@getpocket.com.xpi
when you go to about:support, you will find it is listed there under Extensions

You need to enable skipuac in settings of ccleaner
you can go to the thread from where this quote coming from incase no one reply here
same problem but different OS

winapp.ini is the default rule inside ccleaner
Default=True means that when you open ccleaner, the entries will be selected by default
changes to the setting will be saved inside ccleaner.ini/registry
you should find something like this inside ccleaner.ini/registry
(App)Run (in Start Menu)=False

Excluding [MS Office Unsaved Files*] by creating rules
is not the point.
well, i thought that how we create and fix the rule ( find the problem and exclude/modify )
as i wrote previously, you need to contribute too
you can't expect the Winapp2.ini's maintainer to install all software available
i've already install the program but nothing to clean
the program install add-in inside folder which already excluded by the exclude rule
this file, maybe? UBitMenu04UK.ppam??
from install_script
[Files] Source: "{userappdata}\Microsoft\Excel\{reg_HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\General_Xlstart_XLSTART}\UBitMenu04UK.xlam"; DestDir: "{userappdata}\Microsoft\Excel\{reg:HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\General,Xlstart|XLSTART}"; MinVersion: 0.0,5.0; Source: "{userappdata}\Microsoft\Word\{reg_HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\General_Startup_STARTUP}\UBitMenu04UK.dotx"; DestDir: "{userappdata}\Microsoft\Word\{reg:HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\General,Startup|STARTUP}"; MinVersion: 0.0,5.0; Source: "{userappdata}\Microsoft\{reg_HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\General_AddIns_AddIns}\UBitMenu04UK.ppam"; DestDir: "{userappdata}\Microsoft\{reg:HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\General,AddIns|AddIns}"; MinVersion: 0.0,5.0;
Winapp2.ini
ExcludeKey2=PATH|%AppData%\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
ExcludeKey3=PATH|%AppData%\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

I use Office 2016 (32-bit) and Windows 10 (64-bit).
UBitMenu is Uninstalled/Removed by:
[MS Office Unsaved Files*]
why not you run the cleaner first > install UbitMenu back > scan again > instead of cleaning, create exclude rule for detected files
share your edited rule here
already tried install and clean > found no file to delete
Win XP

That didn't do the trick either, Im guessing its something on CCleaners end, hopefully they will fix it on the next update.
new update v5.15

I'm running 5.14.5493 64 bit. How do I remove the winapp2 folder?
go to CCleaner installation folder and delete winapp2.ini file
right click on ccleaner shortcut(desktop) > Open file location

Does anyone from Piriform have any realistic answers to this? If you use a Chrome browser regularly - this renders the CCleaner virtually useless.

That Local Extension Settings path in my early post worked for everything, but two extensions. Magic Action for Youtube and Flashcontrol.
installed Magic Action for Youtube by www.chromeactions.com and run ccleaner
setting still preserved even with winapp2.ini
chrome Version 48.0.2564.109 m
windows 8.1
CC 5.14
what your ccleaner version?
if you're still have winapp2.ini inside ccleaner installation folder, you need to remove it first before running ccleaner

probably due to broken shortcut
try go to CCleaner installation folder in Program Files and right click ccleaner.exe > send to > desktop(create shortcut)
-
the entries are inside formhistory.sqlite
you need to clean "Saved Form Information" but by doing that, you also remove:
User names, passwords, search terms, and anything else you typed into any forms that appeared in the browser's HTML canvas.
-
did you use winapp2.ini or any other enhancement?
remove the file and then see if the problem with the "Analyze/Run Cleaner" button solved
-
upload to image hosting site such as imgur and paste the direct link here...use the "Image" code
open Task Manager and check if there is ccleaner.exe process running
End it and run the installer again
no need to delete ccleaner folder
-
is that all from ccleaner.ini?
adding the line that i posted won't work if Browser Monitoring isn't enable
if you're already enable it, then i don't know why it won't work
-
try add this to ccleaner.ini
(Mon)3026=2
try open ff and close it
cc should prompt you to clean ff

Anyone notice how slow the official Firefox addons is to offer an update to uBlock Origin? The official Firefox addons page is on 1.5.5 that's two versions behind compared to the releases page with 1.5.7 here: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases
probably gorhill didn't submit 1.5.6 and 1.5.7 to AMO
see the changelog, no FF related changes

try open FF in safe mode
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
as you already installed mbam, you should do full scan

can anyone with Windows 8/8.1/10 take a look at this thread and create cleaning rule for SolitaireCollection, HeartDeluxe or any Microsoft games app

How does uBlock origin compare to Adblock Plus?in term of blocking ads using ABP filter syntax, like mta said, similarbut
uBlock Origin is not an "ad blocker", it is a wide-spectrum blocker, which happens to be able to function as a mere "ad blocker". But it can also be used in a manner similar to NoScript (to block scripts) and/or RequestPolicy (to block all 3rd-party servers by default), using a click-and-point user interface.
i only change to uBlock because its feel lighter on FF than ABP but might change now after FF release patches that fix problem with ABP
nearly change back to ABP after gorhill gave the project to other person but stay with uBO when gorhill release uBO
now, i don't think i can go back to ABP
reasons
- example.com##script:contains(...)
- Dynamic Filtering
adblock vs ublock origin are very similar, even use the same lists.
what made me convert was the stories (rumours) of adblock selling its soul and 'allowing' certain things through if someone crossed their palms with silver.
plus, as it turns out, I personally have found ublock so much better, in privacy, blocking, customisation, updating...
(I'm even wondering if I still need Ghostery, uBlock seems to cover the same ground plus kicks in first)
just disable acceptable ads and all ads will be block
regarding whether you still need Ghostery or not, try read Blocking Mode or here
from what i read, you don't need it but Ghostery might block what uBO misses because they use different set of filter
for the 2nd link, if you're gonna read all, might be better if you skip first 50 page
Issue with "Options / Include"
in CCleaner Bug Reporting
Posted
well, for me it's working properly
try view the Include rule via registry or ccleaner.ini
sharing the rule here might help to solve the problem
What OS are you using?
