  1. Thank you Dvdbane for your answer. :)

Actually I do use "File Types" (*.tmp in my case), but selecting "Include files and subfolders" nevertheless deletes every empty folder within the included one.

On the other hand, selecting "Include files only" won't delete empty folders, but then it won't delete *.tmp files present in subfolders either.

well, for me it's working properly

try view the Include rule via registry or ccleaner.ini

sharing the rule here might help to solve the problem

    What OS are you using?

  2. Hello,

Sorry for digging up such an old thread. But it seams the bug is still there with 5.15.5513 version of CCleaner.

Selecting "Include files and subfolders" is supposed to "cause CCleaner to search all subfolders within the selected folder for the files to be deleted", which it does. The problem is that it also deletes every empty folder within the included one, which should only happen when choosing  "Include files, subfolders and the folder itself".

Is this bug supposed to be solved, 5 years later...?

    Thank you for your help.

    i don't think it's a bug

"and the folder itself" mean root folder will be deleted as well

to avoid all empty folder being deleted, you should use "File Types" instead of "All Files"

maybe dev should add "and folders" to the Warning

  3. if i'm not mistaken, Hello added in FF45

    FF46beta, Pocket will be added

usually after upgrade to latest version ,FF will ask to restart

to prevent from install, you can delete both XPI from FF folder before restarting FF

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\features

    - loop@mozilla.org.xpi

    - firefox@getpocket.com.xpi

when you go to about:support, you will find it is listed there under Extensions

    Hello icon

  4. winapp.ini is the default rule inside ccleaner

Default=True means that when you open ccleaner, the entries will be selected by default

changes to the setting will be saved inside ccleaner.ini/registry

you should find something like this inside ccleaner.ini/registry

    (App)Run (in Start Menu)=False

  5. Excluding [MS Office Unsaved Files*] by creating rules

    is not the point.

well, i thought that how we create and fix the rule ( find the problem and exclude/modify )

as i wrote previously, you need to contribute too

you can't expect the Winapp2.ini's maintainer to install all software available

i've already install the program but nothing to clean

the program install add-in inside folder which already excluded by the exclude rule

    this file, maybe? UBitMenu04UK.ppam??

    from install_script

  6. I use Office 2016 (32-bit) and Windows 10 (64-bit).

    UBitMenu  is Uninstalled/Removed  by:

    [MS Office Unsaved Files*]

why not you run the cleaner first > install UbitMenu back > scan again > instead of cleaning, create exclude rule for detected files

    share your edited rule here

already tried install and clean > found no file to delete

    Win XP

  7. That Local Extension Settings path in my early post worked for everything, but two extensions. Magic Action for Youtube and Flashcontrol.

installed Magic Action for Youtube by www.chromeactions.com and run ccleaner

setting still preserved even with winapp2.ini

    chrome Version 48.0.2564.109 m

    windows 8.1

    CC 5.14

    what your ccleaner version?

if you're still have winapp2.ini inside ccleaner installation folder, you need to remove it first before running ccleaner

  8. How does uBlock origin compare to Adblock Plus?
in term of blocking ads using ABP filter syntax, like mta said, similar
    but

uBlock Origin is not an "ad blocker", it is a wide-spectrum blocker, which happens to be able to function as a mere "ad blocker". But it can also be used in a manner similar to NoScript (to block scripts) and/or RequestPolicy (to block all 3rd-party servers by default), using a click-and-point user interface.

i only change to uBlock because its feel lighter on FF than ABP but might change now after FF release patches that fix problem with ABP

nearly change back to ABP after gorhill gave the project to other person but stay with uBO when gorhill release uBO

now, i don't think i can go back to ABP

    reasons

    - example.com##script:contains(...)

    - Dynamic Filtering

adblock vs ublock origin are very similar, even use the same lists.

what made me convert was the stories (rumours) of adblock selling its soul and 'allowing' certain things through if someone crossed their palms with silver.

plus, as it turns out, I personally have found ublock so much better, in privacy, blocking, customisation, updating...

(I'm even wondering if I still need Ghostery, uBlock seems to cover the same ground plus kicks in first)

just disable acceptable ads and all ads will be block

regarding whether you still need Ghostery or not, try read Blocking Mode or here

from what i read, you don't need it but Ghostery might block what uBO misses because they use different set of filter

for the 2nd link, if you're gonna read all, might be better if you skip first 50 page
