dang...i forgot to provide the link to the source and yes, it is from http://www.softperfect.com/products/ramdisk/
i thought it is enough to bold the line which will answer the question
-
- Any number of RAM disks. In practice, up to 26 disks due to the number of drive letters available.
- Any RAM disk size on 64-bit systems. Up to approximately 3.5 GB on 32-bit systems.
- Persistent RAM disks with an associated on-disk image.
- Volatile RAM disks whose content disappears on shutdown.
- Built-in disk image manipulation tools.
- Higher PC performance. Provided you have got a sufficient amount of RAM, using a fast in-memory disk for temporary data will boost the computer performance.
- Reduced file system fragmentation. The file system on your hard disks will be far less fragmented as temporary files are never written to the hard disk.
- Reduced wear-and-tear of the physical disk. As temporarily files are not written to the hard disk, there will be fewer read/write cycles, which is especially important for prolonging the life of Solid State Drives (SSD) installed in some laptops.
- Less junk on the hard disk. Often software applications create temporary files that remain undeleted although no longer needed. The contents of RAM disks is cleared every time the computer is restarted or switched off.
- Less noise and heat from the hard disk because the system will use the hard disk less intensively.

if you can paste the content here, maybe will help to see what wrong..please use spoiler
or you can download this and paste the folder into C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\
this is coming from my laptop and only for 32bit

the problem would be with avast
it seem avast self defense protected more than it should
if you want to use ccleaner's startup, you need to first disable avast self defense > use ccleaner > re-enable avast self defense
it is not advisable to do that incase you forgot to re-enable it back and come back here with another problem with malware
so it is at your own risk or you can use msconfig which is safer than disabling avast self defense
you can compare ccleaner's startup entries with msconfig to choose which one to disable
-
@Linguist
did you use avast as your security software?
did you use any other security software?it might help to find the conflicting software because we already knew avast block ccleaner access to startup entries
64bit only

try uncheck urlclassifier3.sqlite and test again
-
maybe just add another section for safe mode entries
[AppName*]
Section=Safe Mode
Detect=
Default=
FileKey1= -
THE FIX! Look at post number #35.
the main quest here is to fix the problem without need to use other software, just CCleaner
this is not fix, but a workaround
with this workaround, it is better to use IE own cleaner
-
try @hazelnut recommendation and if not working, try this
change CCleaner.exe to something else like Cleaner.exe , just remove the first C
then try run it again
-
An all-in-one installer now it seems, no more choosing your OS, language, etc. I don't use it anymore and likely won't, although I do keep the current setup file handy as an alternative just in case my current preferred AV has a bad version or morphs into rubbish.

[Windows Software InstallSource*] LangSecRef=3025 Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ Default=False RegKey1=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\*|InstallSource
if im not mistaken, by deleting this key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\*
you won't be able to uninstall any software because it cannot find uninstaller location
-
well,if you google, you would find something like this
The following Key belongs to Avira 80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79. You shouldn't delete this entry.

I used another cleaning system to wipe free space, but the task was not completed and there is now very little free space left on the C drive. Rebooting doesn't solve the problem.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium.
Help please.
try delete the file stated here
-
-
if im not mistaken, if you delete prefetch, it will rebuild the next startup
no need to delete prefetch because it will auto delete and auto rebuild
-
defrag not gonna shrink anything
its just arrange the file for faster access
-
latest ccleaner would be v4.05.4250
you can download from piriform website to make sure that you get the real installer
i don't think ccleaner installer included google search ads..only option to install google chrome,if im not mistaken
you can try install offline

the last time i've tried adwcleaner, it doesn't detect this
you need to open CCleaner > Startup > Windows > search for entry like this
if i'm not mistaken,i've removed it using malwarebytes
