i have only take in the meantime the option with "about:config" - xpinstall.signatures.required set on false and it does its work :-) perhaps it helps me trough the time until ff esr 68 released in 09. july 2019...
-
@andavari
unhappily this function is not available in older ff esr (allow ff to install and run studies...)
@hazelnut
i wanted to skip this esr version and only use the next version because i dont like the ff 60´s or the ff 60.0 - 60.9-esr series as a direct offshoot of ff 60´s
how it shows in the ff esr overview
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/
-> used the esr 52.9.0 and the next i would install the esr 68.0 without the esr 60-line -perhaps a bad time for me :-))
ps: i used it on w8.1 64 bit

studies - in ff settings? where can i find it in the settings? i cant find nothing like this in privacy settings in german ff esr 52.9...

QuoteWhat are my options if I want to install unsigned extensions in Firefox?

The Nightly and Developer Edition versions of Firefox have a preference to disable signature enforcement. There are also be special unbranded versions of Release and Beta that have this preference, so that add-on developers can work on their add-ons without having to sign every build. To disable signature checks, you will need to set the
xpinstall.signatures.required
preference to "false".-
type
about:config
into the URL bar in Firefox -
in the Search box type

double-click the preference, or right-click and selected "Toggle", to set it to

hi fans,
i think i read this kind of problems in our forum for a bit time but i cant find it...
i found this problems with different antiviruses as sophos, avira, avast (and ofcourse avg), arcabit and mcafee
in german:

the same in english:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4493446/windows-8-1-update-kb4493446
in english:
QuoteRoll-back your machine to a working state by uninstalling the following updates: for Win7 (KB4493472 and KB4493448), and Win8.1 (KB4493467, and KB4493446). Our customers have reported that removing these updates has fixed the issue for the time being.
on my w8.1 cant update antivirus because it shows me an blue screen and cant create an report-file

have you some "smart-cleaning" options active? perhaps as long as you have run this "services" in the background you cant install a new version over the older one manually.
-
-
i think ccleaner need at minimum xp with sp3
as far as i know there is no sp3 vor server 2003...
the docs showing server 2003 as a supported os but i think without sp3 the time seems over faster as with xp sp3.
https://www.ccleaner.com/docs/ccleaner/introducing-ccleaner/system-requirements
perhaps should the admins revise this os-support-list in the docs...
-
perhaps without " rblc01uk.default" at the end of the path...
-
mmmh, i dont know, im not an expert with this.
but in the roaming-folder are other files/folders as in local-folder. perhaps you need only one for the profile-cleaning? (and one for your portable)
maybe can another forums-user help more as i can :-)

ublock v1.18.16
gorhill released this
Apr 3, 2019
This is an emergency fix for NanoAdblocker#257. The issue is that whenever an empty hostname was passed to
getPublicSuffix.getDomain()
, the next call togetPublicSuffix.getDomain()
with a valid hostname would return an invalid result. I expect the erroneous behavior to be a rare occurrence, vast majority of calls togetPublicSuffix.getDomain()
are with a valid hostname.Side effects could be that uBO was unable to properly lookup specific cosmetic filters for a site.

Fixes an issue with restoring settings from a backup file
- Issue affected Firefox mostly as it was an issue with managing IndexedDB-based cache storage, which is default in Firefox.
- Thanks to @gwarser who spent an inordinate amount of time helping narrow the issue.

ublock v1.18.12
gorhill released this
Mar 26, 2019
Changes
The
unlimitedStorage
permission has been added in Firefox, to bring uBO inline with the Chromium version. As a result, when uBO updates, Firefox will notify you about the new permission:Note that the Chromium version of uBO has declared the
unlimitedStorage
permission since it was first published in 2014.Firefox is not yet enforcing this permission, but I decided to add it anyways since Firefox states:
Only ask for "unlimitedStorage" permission if you expect your extension's local data storage to exceed 5MB if it's not going to exceed that amount, don't ask for it.
uBO is already using more than 5MB of storage in its basic configuration.
In a future version, uBO may start to use a "persistent" indexedDB instance for its cache storage to ensure proper functioning of uBO.[1] uBO currently uses a non-persistent indexedDB instance and this may cause difficult to diagnose issues for some users as Firefox may evict uBO's cache storage at any time.
[1] uBO's cache storage is used to store filter lists, their compiled counterparts, and snapshots of various internal data structures for fast launch time).
