I haven't seen anything that suggests that
Neither have I, but every time I tried to update to 0.3 it said there were no updates available (last time I tried was yesterday), and visiting mozilla it stated I was using the most recent version. Very strange.

Version 43.0.4
43.0.3 never got offered on mine, I'm presuming it was pulled for some reason (and re-released fixed as 43.0.4 perhaps?)
-
Yet another bugfix release (making a slight mockery of the supposed major version numbering they adopted), version 43.0.3:
- Fix network issue when using Nvidia's Network Access Manager
- On some Windows configurations, improve the decoding of some videos on YouTube -
I found a few entries with weird "Detect" lines and just wanted to make sure those are correct:
DetectOS=|5.1DetectOS=|6.1DetectOS=|5.1DetectOS=|5.2DetectOS=|5.1DetectOS=|5.1Why the "|" for the DetectOSs?http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=32310&p=269177

Thanks, apparently since May! (This is when the path was created on my machine, at least)
Beginning of April here, so good spot Hanzo

I have opened each and every file with Notepad to see the content. I am pasting a few files' content here. Also, I have asked a question in the WindowsTen Forums and here is the response: http://www.tenforums.com/general-discussion/34528-what-these-sourcehash-files.html
So you're suggesting an entry to delete items that you don't even know the function of?

Watch out for Push notifications to be launched in build 44
Info about this and how to disable it
http://www.ghacks.net/2015/11/04/everything-you-need-to-know-about-push-notifications-in-firefox/
Hmmm, I can see one or two sites where this might be of use, but in general that sounds like a horrible feature. If I close a site, I'm done with it, I don't want it nagging me to come back every five mins
I do find it bizarre that Mozilla spent the last year or two stripping out functionality in the name of streamlining the browser, yet keep chucking in new tosh like this.

ff v43.0.1 on 18. dezember 2015
no notes yet
I would guess it's something like this:
Release notes:
Fix bug introduced in version 43.0
(On a more serious note, according to the Mozilla forum it's something to do with this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1079858 )

Well spotted.. you win the Piriform Prize of the Month
(hazel rummages in the moderators cupboard and finds the 'special' prize tin of biscuits !)
http://www.ghacks.net/2015/10/04/here-are-you-options-for-running-unsigned-add-ons-in-firefox/
Yay, I win
Hang on, these say best before Dec 97, you sure these are safe???
This whole signed addons thing seems to be failing badly, I assume they are hoping making it compulsory will force devs to actually take it up. Especially when addons as simple as the British English dictionary are unsigned (and therefore this update will break spellcheck), along with 6 others I have that are currently unsigned.
-
Firefox 43 is now out (not sure if it's on the updater yet)
Don't forget this important piece of info
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
Am I missing something or have you pasted the wrong link?

I of course meant for him to push the removals to the template, don't be stubborn for little reason.
I wasn't being stubborn, was just clarifying that I was AGREEING with you to make sure there was no misunderstanding. Now my clarification of misunderstanding has been misunderstood. Not quite sure how you correct a misunderstood misunderstanding, that's like dividing by zero or something ain't it
-
I don't understand this logic. If Auslogic Registry Cleaner is dangerous because it removes backup files made by that program, then all of the programs in the post listed below do the same.
http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=32310&page=253&do=findComment&comment=264572
Correct, they should not be there, but until a member edits and submits (or suggests complete removal) of those entries they will remain. It's not that hard to understand. This is a COMMUNITY built file, all @Winapp2.ini does is compile all the entries into the downloadable file for US (no small job in itself). He is not a developer, he does this in his own free time and can't be expected to go through them all himself.
-
And (as I believe I stated before) the only way to change/remove them is for community members to point out the entries which overstep this guideline, so @Winapp2.ini can cull them.
I was referring to them being changed/removed by members, not winapp2 himself, he already does more than enough!
-
I just wanted your lives to be easier. That program leaves lots of traces that are harder to delete manually.
Read what you said before http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=32310&p=264484
My response http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=32310&p=264572
I was involved in that discussion, I know what was said. But the ethos of CCleaner right from day one was to be a SAFE cleaner, and not deleting registry backups has always fallen into that category. The solution to the entries that shouldn't be there is to remove/edit them, not add more.
-
I remember the discussion we had before on this entry. Since we have not removed any other registry cleaner entries from Winapp2.ini, we should add this entry.
http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=32310&page=253&do=findComment&comment=264474
And it still won't, and shouldn't, be added, no matter how many times you post it.

Thanks to all for the suggestions re: the problem I'm having with Firefox. I've managed to get the problem sorted out on my desktop computer but can't get it sorted out on my laptop! The settings on both computers are exactly the same so I don't know why Firefox works fine on one but not the other. Very curious.
What I did was to disable then re-enable Shockwave Flash on both computers. It's worked for my desktop but not the laptop... I think I might have to uninstall Firefox from the laptop and then reinstall it and hopefully that will work.
Of course the next update to Firefox, due in a few weeks time, will probably bring back the problem... oh for the days of Firefox 1.0 when everything was so simple!
I followed the earlier suggestion of disabling hardware acceleration and protected mode and so far (coincidentally or not) the Flash crashes have stopped. Not got round to re-enabling one at a time to narrow down which of the two was at fault (presuming the fix is not actually coincidence)
-
If only they make a similar about face with the killing off of extensions. Sorry, I mean the "move to webextensions" obviously
-
try uninstall/disable shockwave player
for me, it's useless unless you're playing online games
I'm pretty sure that Flash hangs in Firefox (I should know given the amount I see) inform you that SHOCKWAVE Flash is unresponsive, so probably nothing to do with Shockwave player (didn't even realise that still existed lol)
-
Can anybody help me sort out a recurring problem I have with Firefox. Since the arrival of, I think it was Firefox 39 or Firefox 40, I am constantly getting a a script error on numerous websites which refers to a problem with Shockwave. It's annoying because the browser often freezes up and I must have to close down the browser upwards of a dozen times on some days. It's becoming very annoying and makes me think it's time to move on to another browser. I don't want to though as I've been using Firefox since December 2004. However all these constant updates are just seemingly wrecking what was once a reliable browser.
Firefox has a help page that deals with this issue but I can't get their solution to work for me
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/warning-unresponsive-plugin
Has anyone got any suggestions on what I can do to sort out this problem?
No suggestions for you I'm afraid, but you're not alone, I've been having regular Flash hangs for at least couple of months now.

Ah, silly me, click the nondescript green square that for all the world appears to be, and functions as, a 'Go' button. Unless you leave the box blank, then it becomes a link to the advanced search page. So obvious
Idiot forum softwareThanks Hazel
-
Am I being really stupid or has the advanced search gone missing from the forum at some point? Can no longer search for posts containing a search term, only threads? It definitely USED to exist didn't it?

@Nergal
Maybe it would help if I knew if Coffee4Joe used a mac or PC when posting the message I copied and pasted from my gmail inbox. Maybe there is a problem there..... with the translation of line breaks?
It's a formatting issue in the email notifications, I see it all the time, but given it's merely a notification of a new reply I click the link and read the, correctly formatted, post here. It's nothing too do with what machine Coffee4Joe is using.
Start a thread about it in the discussion area if it bothers you, but given no one's complained about it (to my knowledge) in all the years I've been here I doubt it'll be considered high priority to fix, even if it CAN be fixed.
-
@JDPower,
and it appears again, later down...
There's simply a line break missing in CSGalloway's copy and paste, it's a messed up formatting version of:
Default=False
FileKey1=
You asked what FalseKey1 was, which doesn't appear anywhere.
It must be psychic night on here or something
-
What is FalseKey1= mean or is that a typo?
Where are you seeing that?
