    52 ESR should still work for another year :)

    If it's going it's going, no point delaying it lol. I'll either have to live with the default layout, or finally make the move to Vivaldi that I've been threatening since forever :lol:

  2.

    The WebExtensions API is meant to replace the current addon model, but they don't plan to turn it on by default until it has reached feature parity with Chrome's API in order to make it easier for chrome extension developers to port their extensions to firefox

    I believe they're moving the front end UI code from XUL to html/css (part of Quantum DOM?) and in doing so removing a lot of customization. I think userchrome.css will still be functional, I think more advanced themes that rely on XUL functions will not be.

    The end of Classic Theme Restorer. Dreading it <_<

  3.

    Merged [Foxit Reader 6.0 Crash Dumps*] into [Foxit Reader 6.0 More*].

    [Foxit Reader 6.0 More*]
    LangSecRef=3021
    Detect=HKCU\Software\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader 6.0
    Default=False

    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Foxit Reader|*.TXT;*.zip;*.reg
    FileKey2=%AppData%\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader\StartPage\Start|history.txt
    RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader 6.0\Preferences\History\Options

    Hadn't we discussed getting rid of the "more" parts of entry names, along with brackets, or was that idea dropped?

  4.

    I added HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders to the CCleaner Exclude option and that prevents this cleaning code from deleting File Explorer's view settings and user added columns.  And it allows cleaning all the other keys that you rightfully are concerned about.   :)

    How about modifying [Windows Shellbags*] to

    Added ExcludeKey1/2 and eliminated the warning

    [Windows ShellBags*]
    LangSecRef=3025
    Detect1=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows
    Detect2=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam
    Default=False
    RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU
    RegKey2=HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags
    RegKey3=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU
    RegKey4=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags
    ExcludeKey1=REG|HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell
    ExcludeKey2=REG|HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags\AllFolders\Shell

    Gets my vote ;)

    Sorry to hear about your sad loss.

    Your real life is more important right now so deal with things for as long as you want and need.

     hazel

    Seconded. In the grand scheme of things, winapp2 is an irrelevance. Do what you have to and ignore this place for a couple of weeks, and when you're ready, it'll all still be here when you come back, and the sky won't have fallen in for anyone not having an up to date winapp2 file xx

  6.

    Ah OK, but are you using a old version or something? When does this cache folder usually appear? I have been using qBittorrent for years and there has never been a cache folder for me.

    Nope, using the current version. Had it installed for about a year. I tried deleting it, and it's not recreated on a restart, so no idea when or why it's created/recreated (other than presumably on installation)

  7. New Entry:

    [qBittorrent Logs*]

    LangSecRef=3022

    DetectFile=%LocalAppData%\qBittorrent

    Default=False

    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\qBittorrent\logs|*.*

    Remove entry:

    [qBittorrent Backup*]

    LangSecRef=3022

    DetectFile=%LocalAppData%\qBittorrent

    Default=False

    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\qBittorrent\BT_Backup|*.*

    This is causing torrents still being download to be erased.

    Remove entry:

    [qBittorrent Cache*]

    LangSecRef=3022

    DetectFile=%LocalAppData%\qBittorrent

    Default=False

    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\qBittorrent\cache|*.*

    I am not aware there is a cache folder in this directory, or that qBittorrent ever had a cache folder.

    There is a cache folder there on mine.

    Agree with the first removal though, for the reason you gave.

  8.

    If someone has an older version like 17.0.1 it can still access the Cloud for protection, it's what I was using yesterday, although I don't know about older than 17.0.1 versions.

    Mine had never updated from v16 until I manually updated a couple of weeks when we were discussing it on here and I realised there was a newer version (it normally updates in the background so I never check it). And v16 was still working completely fine then.

  9.

    So this is what I am seeing:

    https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Protect-your-privacy/Insecure-password-warning-in-Firefox/ta-p/27861

    FFx 52 is not just blocking HTTP sites either, it's also blocking HTTPS sites.

    But as I say, funny that they are all vBulletin based forums.

    (EDIT: Just found it doing the same with a Xenforo based forum, but Xenforo is also a development of VB).

    I have managed to login to some of my favourites now, but it's a PITA I could do without.

    (You have to click on the username shown in the warning, you can't even enter it by hand).

    And just to double check I tried a site that I know is an "insecure" HTTP,  my council website where I have an account.

    No problem with my saved name and 2 levels of passwords there, all filled in automatically.

    So it seems that this new 'Security Measure' is not blocking all HTTP like it says it will, but it is blocking all vBulletin even when they are HTTPS.

    Anyway - Since when did Mozilla become the Internet Police?

    Remember we are talking about Fora here, it's not like we will be entering credit card details or anything.

    I'm off to do some more research, and maybe complain to Mozilla.

    Sound like a pain. And exactly the sort of thing that's making me hold off updating, at least till the inevitable 0.1 bugfix release anyway.

  10.

    New Entry

    CCleaner's built-in FontCache entry does not remove these files. These are locked files and CCleaner Free version can only remove them in Safe Mode. I guess CCleaner Professional version can remove them when CCleaner is set to run on computer start. I have not tried this yet.

    [FontCache More*]
    LangSecRef=3025
    Detect=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%WinDir%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\FontCache|~*.dat

    That FontCache folder doesn't exist on my Win7 laptop, there are three ~*.dat files just in the local folder though

  11.

    Just download the installer for what's referred to as "Panda Free Antivirus" v18.0, in the main GUI of the program it now has the name of: Panda Protection

    That's what I saw when I installed v18.0.

    I never thought about that, knew you'd have good reason to state it, but couldn't find it called that when Googling. I shall be taking your word for it though, not installing v18 just to find out given the potential bugs you mentioned ;)

  12. Panda Cloud Antivirus > Panda Free Antivirus > now renamed to Panda Protection in version 18 and it's still fully compatible with WinXP. Although v18.0 has some issues on some systems which isn't just a WinXP only problem when looking at their support forums which is one of the reasons I suppose why they won't have v17.0.1 auto-update to v18.0. If someone wants v18.0 they have to manually download and install it, probably have to uninstall the older version first though.

    Panda Protection v18.0 has an issue with not being able to complete a Full Scan - which is not cool after spending 75 minutes for it to just stop at 95%, I had to downgrade back to v17.0.1 for that reason.

    It's still listed as "Panda Free Antivirus" and "Panda Antivirus Pro" on their site (and download sites). There is "Panda Global Protection" and "Panda Gold Protection" but they are their AV plus Internet Security and other stuff bundled in. Have you go a link to the standalone AV programs being renamed/replaced?

  13. After the discussion about older systems, maybe we should keep the old detect for older systems? Does panda still update their old anti-virus? The name change looks good though.

    Panda Cloud and Panda AV are the same program, it was merely a name change (I was still calling it Panda Cloud for about a year after the name change, hadn't even noticed!). Not sure at what point they cut off XP definitions though (if at all)

    EDIT: Oh and the detect key hasn't changed anyway :rolleyes: (brain's on a go slow today)

  14. When it comes to removing cleaners for old versions of antivirus be careful, some vendors don't support an older OS anymore like XP with a new version of the antivirus however the old version of the antivirus may still be fed current signature files due to the vendor knowing it's still needed - example; ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus+Firewall for XP (years old but still functional), and some others.

    Ah, I never thought of that, just assumed any AVG 2013/14/15 users would have been updated to the most recent version and definitions no longer being available for them.

    As for removing no longer supported software, that is a separate issue and as I state every time it comes up, I am completely against. Many of us use older, or no longer supported, software because it's the best at what it does, or cos no viable alternative exists. Completely different to software like AV programs which I assumed (perhaps wrongly) become dysfunctional.

  15. You all can do what you want with it as in the naming convention, I just merely supplied the update for cleaning it.

    In that case, can I propose this as the entry (just the name changed) :)

    [Panda Antivirus Logs*]

    LangSecRef=3024

    Detect=HKLM\Software\Panda Security

    Default=False

    FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Panda Security\Panda Devices Agent\Logs|*.*

    FileKey2=%CommonAppData%\Panda Security\Panda Security Protection|*.log

    FileKey3=%CommonAppData%\Panda Security\PSLogs|*.log

    Can I also suggest the following are removed:

    [AVG AntiVirus 2013 More*]

    [AVG AntiVirus 2014*]

    [AVG 2015*]

    (I'm generally against removing old programs, but surely no one's using years out of date AV software?)

  16. The detect for Panda Cloud Antivirus, which it isn't called anymore, and it's not called Panda Free Antivirus anymore either it's now Panda Protection:

    And the winapp2.ini entry for it is outdated

    I know, that's why I was correcting it ;) Saved me the trouble though :D

    Can we not call it just [Panda Antivirus more] or [Panda Antivirus logs]?

  17.

    Check under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node, if you have a 64-bit system.

    Aaaah, there it is. Learned something new :) So does CCleaner translate that to the other location, or does Windows see them as the same?
