  1. Like you, Whiteshark, your screen-shot depicts what I always see when I turn off Ad Blocker in IE7Pro.

Notice the difference in the font from "tcoffeep" 's screen-shot of the words "Ads by Google".

Perhaps this is a "locational" thing ???

Google, Filehippo.com, who ??? Someone has been compromised somehow.

    :) davey

Yep, this is the blocked URL http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js

Some kind of localization is possible.

Indeed, browsing the Internet i get a lot of pretty young women all wanting

know me better. Moreover, all them are always living very close to me

  2. Anywho Whne seting up CCleaner your prompted with a menu to add options to run CCleaner on recycle bin or open cclearner on recycle bin... Both of these have same effect as I notice it, they just open CCleaner which a shortcut is able to do anyways...

How can you say this?

'Open CCleaner' and 'Run CCleaner' have two completely different effects, of course.

  3. -------------------------------------

ccCommon is part of Norton. What's probably happening is that your Norton

AV install is incomplete or damaged, or partially uninstalled, and the links

to open the doc are trying to call what's not quite there anymore.

To fix this you need to fix either your install of Norton or your uninstall

    of Norton.

  4. I was wondering if CCleaner can be set to empty a folder but to exclude one of the file in that folder.

Example if I were to add a folder in the Include section of the Advanced Options to be emptyed but set only one file from that folder to be excluded.

Advice would this work or will the whole folder be emptyed.

Yes, just set the file(s) to keep in the 'Files and Folders to Exclude' list.

Note: Using the 'Analyze' button only, you can perform as many tests you like,

    nothing will be deleted. :)

  5. How can I have a specific site to NOT be submitted to be cleaned with all others ?

    Ex.: prefilled bank internet site.

    Thanks

If the bank save your login data in a cookie, then simply find that cookie and move it in the

"Cookies to Keep" list (Options > Cookies). Otherwise, AFAIK it's actually impossible

perform such a selective deletion of the login data.

  6. Mine was not empty, but the Last Modified date was very old (about 2 years ago).

IMHO are created by the system at the install, or at the login as Administator, then no more used.

I have deleted that content without problems, included the index.dat file, so i guess it was not in use.

  7. I would do that if I knew how. I tried to run defragler.exe/debug and all it did was launch Defragler and check for updates.

Assuming there is a typo (the right string is Defraggler.exe /debug, notice the space between 'exe' and '/' )

then open the Defraggler install folder. You should find there a text file named about like this > 'Defraggler.exe.[1_3_93][2008-10-03_15-36].txt'

That is the file needed by MrG to investigate :)

  8. Only one half-hour of work and only for fun

Yes I know, these two sentences are "horrible" but automatically-electronically translated (only a look after translation)

But i noticed that some red-ink was gone over the G of legenda(latin)=leGGenda(italian).

Believe in me friend leGGenda (http://www.dizionario-italiano.it)

    (just kidding ;) )

    Just FYI:

    legenda: WordReference Italian-English Dictionary ? 2008

    Principal Translations/Traduzioni principali:

    legenda (spiegazione) nf legend (explanation)

    http://www.wordreference.com/iten/Legenda

That's just perfect to use in this scenario.

Also, on my italian localized Window XP, the Microsoft given name for the Paging file is 'File di Paging'.

Translating it as 'File di paginazione' is absolutely pointless, isn't?

I don't want bother the Forum furthermore, if you like feel free to contact me in private.

    Thanks :)

  9. Hello, here I've translated defraggler 1.03 to the italian language:

in attachment the dll and the resource strings

    Have a good day

    Massimiliano

    Still done, thanks

    Forum Link

Note: 'Leggenda mappa drive' is horrible

    'Deframmenta i marcati...' also

    (just kidding ;) )

  10. Can't confirm on Windows XP SP3.

My system have an internal disk with 3 partitions C: D: G: and an external USB drive

with partitions H: I:. All them are detected, analyzed and defragged without any

problem, as usual. Doesn't make any difference starting Defraggler before/after

    connect the external USB, here.

  11. dude my CCleaner shows a startup program named "44b223e8" and the file is rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\nuedncrp.dll",b . whenever i start windows i get a security error msg. is this coz of dis startup program? should i disable this startup?

Ummm... sounds to be some malware.

You can find some people more experienced than me in the Spyware Hell section of this forum

A google search for 'nuedncrp.dll' does't find nothing but your message.

However, first of all try to disable it from startup, and reboot. Let's see if it re-enables by itself.

  12. Not to be contrarian, but IMHO is up to the user take any action. Who said i want delete my customized files/folders every time i run CCleaner, and not, for instance, once a week or once a month? ;) In my opinion everything should be unchecked by default in CCleaner. Nevertheless this could cause as well some headaches and/or complaints about CCleaner not working at all, but... this is the life
