  1. Ok when you go to options and then cookies on your ccleaner............You have a list that says: "Cookies to Delete".......................How do i delete those cookies?

By default, all cookies are in the Cookies to Delete column. They are deleted when ccleaner is run.

  2. wouldn't be good if the makers of ccleaner would add a little thing more in there software?

This is the reason why i love ccleaner. Less is more.

As for the uninstall i would wish it did a proper uninstall. Never the less it still loads 100 times quicker then m$ built in uninstaller.

  3. Dont wont to start a new thread as not bothered more curious.

why does ccleaner tell me there is no free space to be wiped yet recova finds loads???

surely thats what ccleaner should be cleaning when you run wipe free space?

  4. I personally run ERUNT at startup.

small application that auto backs up the registry at startup. Never onced had to use it. But there could always be that one time i need it.

  5. You weren't wrong men.

Actually, you did what you had to do. :)

    Nice work, by the way.

I just know by experience that this is not a registry issue.

    I changed my last post.

I'm sorry, I shouldn't had used the plural.

    I hope we are cool.

    :)

of course. i apologize if i sounded rude there.:o

  6. Oh men! You guys are wrong.

care to explain which bit i was wrong on? I never attempted to try answer his question. Just gave my two pence worth on using m$ uninstaller and some advice on alwasy checking entrys listed for deletion in ccleaner.

  7. I am very concerned about the CCregistry cleaner as it has removed, on several occations, more than it should.

I have had problems with other programs as well as WMedia Player.

I thought that it was a better, safer way to clean the registry, but now I will have to examine each one before removing.

    Thanks for the reply

Nothing is 100% safe when it comes to the registry. You should never just click clean up because ccleaner lists something.

You should ALWAYS check the entrys that are listed. CCleaner is most def the safest registry cleaner. but that does not mean you should not chek yourself

Ccleaner does offer the option to back up.

Also there is a program called ERUNT http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/

It's a very small bit of software that creates a backup of the registry on windows startup. Takes literaly no time. Something i suggest using.

    hope this helps

  8. I read that CCleaner may remove the ability for an complete un install of Windows Media Player

I am having a problem re installing WMP-11

The registry cleaner had removed WMP entries that disabled the player

Has there been any solutions to the registry entry removals for WMP ?

This might not be of any use. But no harm in saying. using m$ built in uninstaller does not fully uninstall software any way.

Have you tryed using something like your uninstaller? This will completely remove wmp and then maybe try reinstalling?

  9. I was always lead to beleive that a virus can not be attached to an mp3. Simply because a mp3 can only be sound and a virus is data. If the mp3 file is a virus masquerading as an mp3 file, the media player will NOT play it because it does not recognise it as a coded media file.

But now some one is saying it is possible?

  10. Hi ident.

CC's uninstaller works exactly the same as the Windows uninstaller, it uses the same info from the registry. Are you having a problem uninstalling something? ;)

cc uninstaller is crap same as xp's they dont actually uninstall everything. only good thing about cc is it loads faster

i just downloaded revo b4 u said it. ganna tyr it out

  11. very good point that i have never really thought about.

I have protection on work invoice/pictures Only the basic (lock folder xp) which im sure any one with half a brain could crack.

as for deletion of files. I have CCleaner over write the recycle bin on startup with 1 over pass for the reason....???? None what so ever

am i strange ???? I just think when i use the option of delete XP should do what i ask.

I also have got it into my head my pc will function better with the space clean?

  12. Make two versions. Or make it an option.. should be simple enough.

If you was making a program for free. would you want to make 'another' free version?

I like CCleaner as it is. Yes another version would not make a difference to me. But why not just download eraser to clean free space?

or even use recova to wipe the 'actual' file you want removed. this will be much faster then cleaning the whole drive

  13. I know this is not really CCleaner, But it effects CCleaner.

A mate of mine is claiming he found an article on the web wher eit is now possible to recover over passed data.

he is refusing to link me.

No particular reason other then i find the whole process interesting

has any one hear dof sucha thing?

    happy new year all

  14. I want to be able to password protect and hide some folders. This is just work folders/pictures etc.

I use to have folder guard but it is terrible. Only sometimes working.

can any one reccomend a free piece of software? I don't fancie paying but might have to in the end.
