  1. I suspect the System Volume Information is inaccessible on most user systems unless the user intentionally takes ownership of the folder (which is not frequently done).
  2. According to WinappDebug.exe, the following modules are missing trailing backlash after the Environmental variables (must have backslash). The code below is corrected and I am assuming that WinappDebug.exe is accurate in its statement. 4. But I suspect the vast majority of Winapp2.ini/Trim.bat users only update Winapp2.ini when a new CCleaner is released monthly. Again.....just my "guessimate".

  6. The problem with doing this is: - An awful lot of people do not upgrade versions of software until they absolutely have to because something does not work with a new version of Windows or whatever. Third party licensed software that charges for upgrades each time they issue a major version release is one of the main reasons people do not upgrade....can't afford to keep shelling out money. Thus, editing Winapp2.ini based on version number, age, can reduce the effectiveness on those peoples systems. And they certainly do not enjoy being constant auditors of what has been removed from Winapp2.ini and then adding back in code. - And to be truthful, it bothers me when we start "editing/merging/ code" Winapp2.ini because it means tested code has to be retested to ensure that it is working/functioning properly on user and my own systems. - Trim.bat is an excellent tool to speed up Winapp2.ini's affect on CCleaner. It is not frequently executed by the majority of Winapp2.ini users so I don't believe its speed is a significant issue. JMO

  8. Was this modification to [LastGood.tmp Folder*] not accepted ? No change has been made at Github. https://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=32310&p=275590
  9. Yes, I think I did submit this entry. I have Samsung 850 Pro SSDs and also Samsung 950 Pro NVMe M.2 SSDs. I am running Samsung Magician V4.97. If you are referring to FileKey4, I make it a point not to enter any entries that are not physically visible in my folders when I write up a submission. So there must have been a .log and .txt file in folder Samsung Magician at the time I wrote up the entry. How it got there and why, I really cannot attest to. Your modification certainly looks okay to me.

  11. Modified entry: [LastGood.Tmp Folder*] Removed: DetectFile=%SystemDrive%\LastGood.tmp so that this entry shows up when using a Trim.bat even if a LastGood.tmp folder is NOT present at the time the Trim.bat is executed. 13. Modified entry: [Config.msi] Removed: DetectFile=%SystemDrive%\Config.msi so that this entry shows up when using a Trim.bat even if a Config.msi is NOT present at the time the Trim.bat is executed. 15. Welcome back SMalik! This entry should be removed. It is actually for jv16 PowerTools and removes a .bak file which is against the standing rules for Winapp2.ini. File hosts_PTBackup*.bak is created when jv16 PowerTools "Immunize my Computer" tool inserts the MVPS entries into the HOSTS file. Removing hosts_PTBackup*.bak prevents the user from being able to restore the HOSTS file back to the original. 18. If you remove the Nvidia Installer2 folder, you can no longer "uninstall" the Nvidia software via Control Panel>Programs and Features. You can do an over-the-top upgrade to a newer version of the Nvidia software. Personally, I prefer to remove the Installer2 folder and have been doing so for years. If I ever need to uninstall the Nvidia software, I can just re-install the same version number and the Installer2 folder is added back so that I can then uninstall the Nvidia software via Control Panel>Programs and Features.
  19. Welcome back and glad to hear that you are okay.

  22. It can be deleted without affecting the operation of your Nvidia drivers and software. HOWEVER, if you need to delete/uninstall the Nvidia software via Control Panel>Programs and Features, it will not unistall because the needed uninstall software is in the Installer2 folder that has been deleted. You would need to re-install the same version of the Nvidia software and then uninstall it via Control Panel>Programs and Features. That said, it does not affect "over the top" installations of a newer version of the Nvidia software.
