Hi guys
Today IE7 has started loading "Internet Explorer: Get It Now" page at startup instead of my normal home page.
If I check to see what my home page is in "Internet Options" my normal home page is the only one listed.
SpyBot S&D has a list of start and search pages IE7 uses, however the one mentioned above is not in the list.
Any one know what to do?

The Bathurst 1000 is probably one of the most significant motorsport events ever.
A lot of years ago, and I mean a lot, UK TV covered it for the first time, and their eyes were opened as to what motor sport coverage could, and should be.
That was the first time I had ever seen a race from the drivers viewpoint. Cameras inside the cars. And I'm fairly sure that was the first time a lot of people had experienced that gob smacking camera work.
I've never forgotten that first Bathurst I saw a long time ago, and the coverage was unbelievable, but sadly, I haven't seen it for a long time.
One of the best racing spectacles on the planet.
Hi Dennis
It is the "ultimate" motor sport event in Australia each year.
I haven't been to see the race, however I have driven around the Mt Panorama circuit.
The Mt Panorama race circuit is a public road, and steeper and narrower than it looks on TV.

Here is a handy little program called "Convert"
Convert is a free and easy to use unit conversion program.
I found this program years ago, sorry if it's been mentioned already

Hi guys
You can also find your ip address if you go to "Shields Up!-Internet Venerability Profiling" https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 , you can also run tests to see how stealthy your PC is while connected.

Almost as scary as my mother in law

And I thought my download speed was slow

If you mean a USB connected hard drive, I've repeated defragged 5 such (4 different brands) with no problem and it does speed them up.
If you mean a USB flash drive, there's no point. The files are distributed over the chip to even out wear. Access speed is limited by this feature not the physical distribution.
Hi Glenn
Yes I do mean a USB flash drive, thanks for the info

Hi guys
Just wondering if it's OK to "Defrag" a USB Removable Drive?

Like all "Aussie" Australian V8 Supercars fans, I can't wait for Bathurst

I use an APC Back-UPS ES500. Inexpensive (often on sale), about 15 minutes on battery for a single workstation, auto-shutdown software included.
Hi Glenn
(APC) is that the brand name?
I've been thinking about getting a (Belkin) brand UPS, one of the most advertised brands here in Australia.

That's gotta hurt!
My uncle calls motor bike riders (Temporary Australians) in Australia that is.

Hi guys
I shutdown, and turn off power to the PC at the wall after I'm finished each day.
I use a serge protection power board, however I live in a "thunderstorm prone area" so if storms are forecast even the phone line gets unplugged for the sake of the modem.
No amount of protection will save a PC from a close "indirect or direct lightning strike" to outside power lines.
I'm thinking of getting a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) so I can shutdown my PC if the power goes off.
Dose any one have any recommendations?

Its just an ad. (although a very crappy one. )
Hi rridgely
It just seems so "sus" (suspect)
I suppose some people (not me) can't resist clicking on such ads.
