  1. Recuva would probably bring them back up, even after a secure deletion as well maybe?

Haven't had a need to try Recuva so don't know it's capabilities.

    Probably has a keylogger installed.

Keylogger = spyware? If so he could get rid of it <_<

Maybe he needs to post a HJT log in the appropriate forum.

  2. So Grayleaf, your mum is able to find the sites you have been visiting.

Yes there is a way to get rid of everything. ;)

    Hi Humpty B)

If Grayleaf has "CCleaner" and has it configured right, wouldn't that do the job for him?

  3. Hi guys B)

    It's a pity that "Freeshare.us" is closing down :(

I just spent 5 minutes trying to get the site to load before coming here, I didn't realize it was gone.

    Any one know why?

Edit: I thought it was finished because my shortcut to the site wasn't working, it closes on the 15/9/07 :(

  4. Well, i like pasta with pasta sauce and sausage cubes (or meatballs). I also like real Turkish kebap (usually with rice) and good old pizza.

Those pictures make them look SO big and delicious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hM8qT9Xop5k  What a great movie.

    Hi CeeCee B)

I love Italian food also :D

"Rick" the manager of "Whammy Burgers" in the video, looks like he'd rather be at an Italian restaurant or any where els for that mater :D lol

  5. One of my favourite's is a cheese and jam sandwich made with a stottie.

Cut in half, plenty of butter, nice strong cheese and raspberry jam. Packet of crisps and a can of John Smiths.

    DELICIOUS.

    Hi Dennis B)

I haven't had a jam & cheese Sandwich for years, I used to love them "apricot jam" yum...

  6. In the Advanced options in the Volume Control window there is a checkbox called "1 Digital Speaker". Any info on this? i could not find an answer as to what this does. Thanks

    Hi Talldog9 B)

It might be something to do with "S/PDIF" from memory it stands for Sony/Phillips Digital...something

In my "Advanced Options" I have a check box for "1 Switch Line-In to Rear Output" which basically enables a 2nd pair of speakers to be connected to the sound card.

Edit: What is S/PDIF? (Sony/Philips Digital Interconnect Format) is a digital audio format :D

  7. Not at all.

I've had that unchecked ever since applying WMP Scripting Fix and Windows Media Player will still stream an mp3 and video with zero problems.

    Hi Andavari B)

Dose that mean that I would have to use some kind of scripting procedure? If so, I'm the first to admit that I have little or no knowledge on the subject  or can I just down load the "WMP Scripting Fix" and uncheck the option in question in WMP?

  8. Uncheck it. That option can be considered as a security threat.

    Hi CeeCee B)

If I uncheck it, dose that mean that "Windows Media Player" can't be used when it is needed? while viewing a web page that has video or audio content available.

  9. I am sure you will know about the tooth fairy, well Craig, I have to tell you this.......

there is also a star fairy.

    Hi hazelnut B)

A star fairy? are you sure?

I mean everyone knows about the tooth fairy :D

  10. Hi all B)

In the options for "Windows Media Player 11" security tab, content, there are 4 check boxes.

The only one that is checked is "Run scrip commands and rich media streams when the Player is in a web page"

    Is this the default setting?

  11. Hi Glenn & rridgely B)

Thanks for the replies, every thing seems to be back to normal.

After checking "Internet Options" and anything els I could think of, I ran CCleaner with "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours" unchecked.

I'm not sure if that fixed the problem, however after doing that and rebooting Windows, things are back to normal.

I first noticed the problem after launching a 2nd IE7 "multitasking" I guess, two browsers running at the same time.

I've been using IE7 for about 5 months.

Is it worth doing a "HJT" and posting it?

Not sure if this means much, IE7 was starting with the wrong page, however clicking the home page button still took me to my proper home page.
