I reckon it's just a guy in a bear suit on his way to a Halloween party, he has to take the bus because his wife wouldn't drive him

I just had a meeting with my financial adviser (she who must be obeyed!) and well... my dream is shattered

It's sort of strange that it doesn't install a license.txt or eula.txt file.
I doubt very much you'd be breaking any laws placing the setup file on a USB flash medium just to install on another computer, hence it really isn't any different than downloading it and keeping in on your hard drive, a floppy, a CD-R, etc.
Thats what I was thinking Andavari , however somtimes it pays to ask.
So there is no EULA.txt file?

Should work fine as far as I'm aware
Can I legally do it?
I can't find the "EULA" for CCleaner, I thought I should have a read just to make sure I wasn't braking any rules "laws" by making a copy.

Add or Remove the Spybot-S&D HOSTS file just means either enabling it or disabling it. It also implies when the Immunization database has been updated which will update the Spybot-S&D HOSTS file entries with any new entries.
The files to remove all end with the extension: .backup
Ok so, Spybot S&D HOSTS file has to be enabled through the program? it's not on by default?
And when Immunizing, the HOSTS file backup won't change "grow bigger" if the Spybot S&D Hosts file is not enabled?
Sorry for all the questions Andavari
I really do appreciate your help, explanations and advice

From the CCleaner website: "Fully tried and tested with Windows 95/98/NT4/ME/2000/XP/2003/Vista."
Thanks JDPower
My old (Windows ME PC) has been retired from surfing the Internet, it now lives in the kitchen doing chores like "Gaming & Photo Editing"
Would I be doing anything wrong If I make a "copy" of (ccsetup141) on a USB removable drive and then copy it to my old machine?

Ok Craig, you've talked me into it, I think it's a winner.
I've just worked out that with all the members we have here, about 16 thousand and they want 5 thousand (pounds)
That's less than 3 and a half pounds each!!
We could rename it to CCleaner image hosting
Hi hazelnut
All jokes aside, I think it could be a good (cheap) investment for "Piriform" and it's members that are willing to contribute to the growth and development of our excellent online community

Hi User on Earth
Doesn't sound like a serious problem, I've seen other software programs display similar "wrong info" about processors etc...
And yes you can alter you posts by clicking "EDIT"

Great idea craig, as long as you let me be the treasurer.
Sure Dennis I don't see why not

Well I can chip in about ?2.50, if anyone fancy's bidding for it. Might stretch to ?3 at a push.
Nice one craig.
Hey Dennis, I just got a great Idea!
What if all the regular Piriform members pooled our resources and put in a bid

Will version (v1.41.544) of CCleaner work with Windows ME?
-
Spybot-S&D will create a brand new backup each time you add or remove it's HOSTS file. From what I've seen it won't overwrite or append anything hence the reason to manually remove them every now and then.
Andavari I'm not sure what you mean by (add or remove Spybot-S&D HOSTS file)?
So which files do you remove? just the ones called backup? and can you just delete them?

Nobody uses dial-up anymore, do they?... , just joking

The best burning speed relies upon your drive and the media you use, unfortunately it's far easier to find and buy horrible quality crappy media versus what's known to be good and reliable. I was thankful I could get Sony media at many stores locally, although I had an entire bad batch of Sony CD-R's in the last year which has reduced my confidence in them severely.
Using crappy media like CMC (whom I wish would die out, or at least be properly labeled as CMC in big crappy colours and crappy lettering) typically means you have to use slower speeds like 8X with CD-R to reduce errors, not sure about DVD's though. However even at the 8X speed with CMC CD-R's serious errors can go un-noticed and may even pass so-called "verification" by CD burning applications. A good way to find out how error prone some media is I've always used the freeware Nero CD/DVD Speed.
Thanks Andavari
I've got "Nero SmartStart" a full set of applications including: Nero CD-DVD Speed, Nero DriveSpeed, Nero InfoTool

Just in case Craig you decide to do any other things like this, a read here may give you a few thought to be going on with

Hi GCNbball8
Did you do a clean install? or just install 2.0 over the previous version?
