  1. When I was looking it said firefox follows that connections tab under internet options. Have you tried setting firefox to default? If not try that first and see if that works, if not you could always change it back to IE being default. Try that if not than the search continues.

  2. CaPMan do you have firefox set as the default browser? I have no clue what the answer is, I havent had dial up since I've had firefox (havent had dial up in 7 years).

I did try to do some searching about this for you and it said that firefox just follows the settings in IE's internet options under the connections tab. Which if I remember correctly is where you make IE do what you are trying. If I'm wrong tell me where the option for this in IE is and I'll try and help you find it in FF.

  3. I have a 17in flat screen crt on one my pcs and the quality is actually quite good. It dosent hasent given me any problems. I have seen the ghosting that can happen when playing games with an lcd and decided to stay away.

  4. That is the scariest thing Ive heard happen. Ok what you need to do is get a firewall get this:

    http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/cata...d=dbtopnav_zass

    Next you need an antivirus:

When you get the firewall DO NOT let anything access the internet if you dont know what it is. Only allow windows services and programs that you know what they are.

Also are you using antispyware? look in the freeware pinned topic and look for a post I made that says antimalware get everything thier you can. Update it and scan.

  5. Sorry not mentioning that IceDog I dont download anything but those videos with bittorent. I use Azureus.

    Heres the link:

    http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

Download that then when you click on the link click save, then look on your desktop for a blue frog icon, click on it and your download starts. make sure you exit azureus when your finished if you dont want to stream the file for others to get it (I dont think it's needed for these videos they have very big servers and lots of seeds).

  6. You all have to check out these videos they are awesome. These are videos from ex techtv host kevin rose. He has left that network and started to do his own online tv shows. So far he has two out. In the first episode he builds a war spying device that can hack into unincrypted surveylence cameras. In the second episode he builds an open source dvr which kicks the crap out of tivo. You all have to check these out they are completely free and legal. (I'm actually considering building the dvr)

  7. As Finland, where AfterDawn Ltd is located, hasn't implemented EUCD to its national legislation yet, we continue to host DVD Decrypter's last version, as well as several other DVD ripping tools on our site.

Looks like that site will still be able to host the file.

  8. I bet that link dosent last long. I read on a web site when this first happened that as part of being shut down all of the sites that mirrored the download would be forced to stop.

To be honest I'm not to bummed about this because I figure whenever a new form of encryption comes out someone will crack it. Just like that new privacy thing they put on music cd's.

  9. You may be wondering why I posted this here. Well, because I wanted too :P. No, the real reason is that I was searching the spyware warrior forums and found a sticky on how to fix aurora. Started reading it and they have CCleaner listed as part of the fix. Thought it was cool and since we had the "issue" a couple of weeks ago I thought I would post it. Here is the link:

  10. You are using avg, has it found anything or alerted you to any infections? This is completely optional but I would uninstall avg and get this free etrust ez antivirus for 12 months offer.

After you try to remove those entries in safe mode run a2 and see what it comes up with.

    EDIT

CaPMans right the only thing you can do is to keep trying. Just remember do not download any more Spyware Adware programs. Their are some really bad ones who can make things worse. If you are about to install a spyware program and your not sure about it just ask someone here just to be safe.

  11. About those entries that you cant remove have you tried to remove them in safe mode? To enter safe mode shut down your pc and while it starts up hold F8. Then open up hijack this remove those entries and reboot. As for those programs that you just installed kill box and whatever the other was I have never heard of them and would uninstall them.

Try this program its becoming one of my new favorites it can remove some things other programs wont. Just make sure you update it before you scan.

  12. I just found this extension for firefox that adds a context menu when you right click on links that will scan the links for viruses with an online virus checker. I havent tried it yet (1 AM and I'm going to sleep). I plan to download this later. I think this could be a great thing especially for suspicious emails. Who know it could be the next must have addition to our virus/malware arsenals. Like I said I havent tried it yet so it could be a piece of junk but it's getting good reviews on mozilla.org.

  13. Wow ewido found a lot of junk. Your hijack this log looks clean to me (Tarun is way better than me so for shure wait to see what he says). The only thing is that you have lots of entrys that say file missing. Print out that log, then boot to safe mode and remove every thing that says file missing or no file. Then reboot and make sure they are gone. Make sure you get rid of no adware and install ad-aware(made by lavasoft).

  14. I think he has two hard drives and the second one is D. I bet he has a temp folder or has installed and unistalled lots of programs on his second hard drive and wants to clean them. To be honest I could be completely wrong I am just trying to find a rational problem with the very little info that he gave.

Thats why I asked him what he stored on his D drive. I wanted to know exactly what he wanted to clean from it in hopes of getting more info to help him out.
