slowday444
What is the advantage, disadvantage of having a browser enabled as the default browser? I one click my Firefox icon in my task bar or on rare occasions the IE icon, and of course they both work. Is it just so something is enabled to open links in mails? Thank You! Moderators rridgely Posted November 27, 2006 Moderators Share Posted November 27, 2006 The default is just the one that is opened when a program tries to open a browser window.(So yes if you open a link in email if firefox is your default then the link will open in firefox). Moderators Andavari Posted November 27, 2006 Moderators Share Posted November 27, 2006 On a security standpoint switching to Firefox could negate some exploits that may auto-load IE, but then again they could always just call upon the iexplore.exe path and do it anyways even if Firefox were the default browser.
