HJT self-analysis tool

I just found this link off a site I was browsing and it seemed to be pretty good. This is basically a guide that tells you what objects are dangerous so you can delete it yourself without relying on other people. Even if you don't have any experience or idea what you're doing, it's pretty much straight forward instructions. It's fast and easy and safe. Here is a picture.

Simply copy and paste your logfile into the white box and click "analyze". If you see a green check it means the item is safe. If it is in red it means it's dangrous and you should delete it. If unknown, you can leave it to the experts to decide. Just go to the log and put a check by it, then click "fix it".

I've seen that site posted multiple times.

The problem is that the logs are getting more complicated and sometimes its not whats in the logs but whats not in them.

Also it doesn't tell you how to actually clean up the infections.(Just removing them in hijackthis doesn't work.) Also that site is not always correct. Because its up to user input it will often label things like MSN toolbar or a service from HP or dell as bad(true they may not be needed but they might be wanted) and I've seen it label a few windows processes as bad that weren't as well.

Trust me your better off posting your log and letting someone look at it for you.

I actually find that site pretty useful. True, it is not as reliable and won't provide the in-depth review that knowledgeable people on a forum can give, but it does give you some basic info and advice on your log without having to wait for forum replies. B)

I have looked at this site sometimes to give me a better idea of what things are

but I would always ask for expert analysis rather than do anything I may come to regret later. :)
