CCleaner startup screen

Recently my CCleaner has changed the startup screen.

I had set CCleaner to open to the Custom Clean screen, but lately it has been opening up to a "Welcome back to CCleaner" screen.

Executable file removed-Nukecad.

Thanks for that, but I have removed your attached file.

The posting executable files by anyone other than Staff/Moderators is against the forum rules, for obvious reasons.

That 'Welcome' screen being shown more than once is a known issue that is being looked into.
It is only affecting some users and not everybody.

We knew that it was happening for some people with CCleaner Professional but yours is the first screenshot showing it in the Free version - so again thanks for that confirmation.

The registry fix that was in your excecutable has already been given (not as an executable) in this earlier thread:

Thank you nukecad for clarifying about posting executables. I hope this rewrite better serves the forums.

 

To all others that wish to have the .reg file for yourselves, here's how to make it.

1) Open Notepad

2) Paste the following lines into Notepad

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Piriform\CCleaner]
"(Cfg)WelcomeScreen"="0"

3) In Notepad, goto File and Save As...

4) In File name: Remove Welcome back to CCleaner Screen.reg

5) In Save as type: All (*.*)

You now have your own copy of the .reg file

Update: So the registry key I posted seems to only work until the next boot.

Here is a permanent code that appears to work (until CCleaner updates itself) or until Piriform fixes their bug:

It is not a bug, it is a trial of a new User Interface.

What you are seeing is a Beta trial of that Welcome page.
Only some users are seeing it and not everybody.
That's what Beta trials are about - to evaluate/check something in the real world by giving it to a limited group of users first before a full roll-out.

It may well be changed before it is fully released to everybody.
