It would be really interesting to know which anti-virus software the other affected users are using. I found the following post in the Avira forum: https://support.avira.com/hc/de/community/posts/8243246193169-Avira-is-deleting-all-my-exes Possibly the anti-virus software is also "going crazy" here?

OK, I'll close this particular thread as the Avira problem from last year does seem to have been fixed.

If you still want help with whatever has affected your computer now then please start a new thread with details of what you are seeing.
