Crap Cleaner takes a long time to clean up Brave browser.

Ccleaner takes A LONG LONG LONG time to clean up Brave browser's crap.  Last time it took around 5 or 6 minutes.  This is been happening for a few months now.   I mean, even when there is nothing to clean from Brave it could take that long..  Ccleaner gets stuck there until it finally does the job.  Only happens with Brave.

Windows 8.1 - 64 bit

4 Gig ram.

51 Gig free in drive out of 600+ gigs.

Defrag often

Keep Windows up to date

Zone Alarm active

Use Ccleaner maybe 3 to 4 times a day, maybe more.

It's possibly down to the lack of free space on your drive, it's getting pretty full which can slow things down. (See your other post about shortcuts).

Can you see what it's getting stuck on?

You can read at the top of the results screen what it's doing.
Or you can right click on each section under Brave and Analyze just that section in turn to see which one is taking the time.
This is Edge but gives you the idea:

When you find the one that is taking the time you may be able to untick it to exclude it from future cleaning.
Depends what it is and if you can manage without cleaning it.

Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning? See this link:

THANK you for your reply, nukecad.  The cleaner gets stuck (as in working hard but not frozen) cleaning up "Brave - Internet Cache".  It goes through Edge, Chrome and everything else fast.  It took 13+ minutes to clean up 450 megabytes worth of Brave's internet cache (mostly from Youtube and news sites).  Ran the cleaner immediately after and this time it took 3 minutes for the tool to do the whole job, with an already cleaned Brave.  And yes, I confirmed it is Brave's internet cache the problem by unchecking the "internet cache" box for Brave.  Thanks again, nukecad.

Probably due to those youtube and news entries then, both of those can be heavy on the junk and fill up the browser caches.

You might want to check your browser options, especially for what '3rd party' options you have allowed.

It's also sometimes a good idea to run Windows built in' Disk Clean-up' that will often clean up things that CCleaner may be getting stuck on.
Many of us run it once a week using the 'Clean up system files' option, just to make sure nothing stubborn is blocking things.
It does take a lot longer than running CCleaner, it can take up to 20 minutes to clear Windows Update files, (which is one reason you use CCleaner instead), but if CCleaner is taking a lot of time anyway it could help.
