Do CCleaner Pro Users Need Unhackme?

CCleaner is a system performance and privacy tool.  Although it can be of assistance in cleaning up malicious files and lingering vulnerabilities under certain circumstances, it is not an antivirus product.

That said, if someone is after an antivirus/antimalware product I would generally recommend picking something with an established user base and reputation.  Generally speaking, any AV software with a global install base lower than 50M at a bare minimum is unlikely to have enough of a threat detection network to be able to adequately protect you.  The software you mention does not seem to fall into that category.

The product mentioned is not an Anti-Virus programme.

Nor will it "keep my PC running clean".

It's an Anti-Rootkit which is a specialist tool, usually used by technicians, for the detection and removal of rootkit infections that your standard Anti-Virus hasn't caught.

That is to fix machines that may have already been infected with a rootkit, if you have not been infected by a rootkit then you don't need it.

It should not be used as a replacement for an Anti-Virus, it's a removal tool not a protection tool.

Although they do now seem to be marketing it to home users the manufacturers own website clearly stares:

UnHackMe is not an antivirus.

It is the best addition to your antivirus!

UnHackMe is really best at fixing the issues, which antivirus programs do not.

And of course - Other Anti-Rootkit apps are available.
