Canary
Suddenly, and for no apparent reason, controlling the cursor via my laptop touchpad has become harder. The cursor moves where I want it to until I let go, but then it jumps back a couple of centimetres. Is this a settings issue, or a hardware issue? TheFiresInTheSky
hardware. it could be the laptop case pushing on the side of the pad which would cause this.
Glenn
I've used several different brands of notebook and they all had sensitivity adjustment for the touchpad via a device controller.
JDPower
Suddenly, and for no apparent reason, controlling the cursor via my laptop touchpad has become harder. The cursor moves where I want it to until I let go, but then it jumps back a couple of centimetres. Is this a settings issue, or a hardware issue? I've had this problem a few times and its always been caused by a little bit of dirt or something stuck at the edge of the pad (ie between the pad and case round the edge of the pad). Try running a cotton bud or similar round the edge of the pad (or if you can see a bit of dirt VERY gently try to dislodge it with a pin or something).
