TheFiresInTheSky
thanks! that seemed to do the trick. method 1 i know wouldnt work. method 2, the key already existed. method 3 seemed to work perfectly. only problem i found was it reset my desktop options. switched to classic view, but all that only took 2 min to fix. Moderators Andavari Posted May 28, 2006 Moderators Share Posted May 28, 2006 Aaron you really need to start backing up the Windows registry before you go about with your daily experiments, because at some point things aren't going to be so easy to undo. I know this from experience because I've been there, and done that on multiple occassions in the past! If your using Windows XP I'd highly suggest you start creating daily registry backups with ERUNT, and since some of your experiments really worry me you should also manually make a daily system restore point. TheFiresInTheSky
worry you?!?! HeHe... alright, why erunt and not just windows registry to back it up?
Moderators Andavari Posted May 28, 2006 Moderators Share Posted May 28, 2006 Because ERUNT can set things correct registry-wise if/when System Restore fails. Also because its backup and restore function are really fast, and it's never failed me not even once.
