envision
In XP CC worked perfect, good work guys. Now as I was forced into Win 10, anytime I run the cleaner, I am forced to re-enter my AT&T password. I use firefox and as long as I don't use CC, I never have a problem. I searched the forum and google and didn't find an answer, sorry if I missed it. What must I uncheck either Firefox or CC to prevent this hassle? Thanks to all in advance.
Moderators nukecad Posted July 23, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 23, 2016 unticking 'Saved Passwords' for Firefox on the Applications tab will stop CC removing Firefox passwords. Note some application login pages are set up as forms, (I'm not sure if AT&T is), so you may need to untick 'Saved Form Information' as well *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Moderators mta Posted July 23, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 23, 2016 or if it's only the AT&T stuff being lost, perhaps it's just their cookie you need to keep. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. envision
Thanks for the replies. Both saved passwords and saved forms are unticked and came that way on install. I love CC and never had an issue on XP and now I got about 1 GB of junk I want to get rid of. As big as AT&T is and as popular as CC is, I'm surprised there's not more info. I thought Firefox might be an issue but its set to delete cookies at shutdown and works fine. Any other ideas? Thanks
Moderators nukecad Posted July 24, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 24, 2016 Have you checked that Firefox is set to remember passwords? The setting is in Options > Security On that page you can also view your saved logins to check that it is actually being saved. If it is shown as saved, close FFx reopen it and see if it's still there. If not then FFx is removing it on closing when it deletes cookies. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Moderators Nergal Posted July 24, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 24, 2016 Also check to see if the at&t cookie is a flash cookie ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. envision
Ffx security "saved logins" shows it saved, I was hoping it was a bug with win 10 that would be fixed. For some reason it has chosen to just pick on my sign in, nothing else is bothered. I hate the thought of not using CC, but signing in everytime is a pain, when I remember my password and don't have to look it up. Thanks for the continued input. Still find it odd so few have mentioned this with Win10.
Moderators DennisD Posted July 26, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 26, 2016 Also check to see if the at&t cookie is a flash cookie See if you have "Adobe Flash Player" checked in "Applications/Multimedia". If it's checked, uncheck it and see if that fixes the issue. Welcome to the forum by the way.
envision
Thanks for the flash cookie idea and help. I have no idea nor have I seen any thing listed as a flash cookie. In Ffx only 1 thing was saved logins was listed and it was my login to my AT&T account, nothing else. Didn't see any thing about flash. It was for a yahoo site that ran out to.........so I couldn't see the whole thing, but that is how I get my mail, go to yahoo and click mail, if that helps. Moderators nukecad Posted July 27, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 27, 2016 So when you run Ccleaner is it deleteing the saved login or is it still there after CC has been run?It seems from what you are saying that the login is saved, (is not being removed by CC), but it is not being used for some reason. So that sounds like a Firefox problem. I would make sure your Firefox is up to date (v47.0.1). Then I would delete the curently saved login. Make sure the 'Remember logins for sites' is selected. Then login to AT&T to save save a new one. EDIT I've just had another thought. I don't know just how the AT&T login screen works, but I do know that newer versions of Firefox can have some oddities with saved logins. For instance if I am logging into any vBulletin based forum, my username and password are not filled in at first. I have to click the Login button which then produces a 'failed login - try again' screen that does have the name and password fields filled. Its not just vB, logins for some other websites work this way now as well. (I think it was about FFx version 43.0 when this first started happening to me). *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'?
