does the error indicate which network protocol is missing?

have you tried reinstalling the network adapter?

 

what is your OS?

desktop or laptop?

LAN or wifi?

Backup now & backup often.

i've also tried all the netsh commands and other IP/networking resets and a system restore.

and i've tried reinstalling the network adapter and network drivers.

OS: Win10

Desktop

LAN.

You aren't the only one. I guess you have been through the fixes on this 24 page thread for Windows 10 users with that socket error.
